Life & Work with Clint Pulver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Clint Pulver.

Hi Clint, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Growing up, I wanted to be a helicopter pilot and graduated High school with my Pilot’s License. Shortly after that, I was diagnosed with a rare (at the time) degenerative eye disease that prevented me from continuing forward as a pilot. I ended up going to college and graduating with a degree in speech communication, where I focused on professional speaking.

After graduation, I started The Undercover Millennial program, where I would go into organizations as a young person who was looking for a job. By doing so, I was able to uncover the hidden truths of why employee’s liked or disliked their workplace. This led to writing a national bestselling book called “I Love It Here: How Great Leaders Create Organizations Their People Never Want to Leave.” I’ve been fortunate to play the drums for 23 years, traveling across the world as a professional drummer and having the opportunity to coach and teach Drum programs, including the drum line for the NBA Jazz.

I now travel the world as an Emmy Award Winning keynote speaker, bestselling author, and employee retention expert helping organizations diminish turnover and create a company that their people never want to leave.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road has been full of ups and downs, and many roadblocks have arisen, but those roadblocks have guided me into the place that I was meant to be.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Things I’m proud of:

-my bestselling book

-drumming professionally all over the world

-becoming a pilot

-winning an Emmy Award for a short film I wrote and directed about my 5th-grade teacher named Mr. Jensen who changed my life by seeing me as an opportunity and not just a problem.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My wife, Kelly. She has been with me from the very beginning–our first date was the same day I quit my corporate job to jump into the world of professional speaking full time. She is the foundation of our business and has been instrumental in getting us where we are now.
