Today we’d like to introduce you to Edlin Mendivil.
Hi Edlin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I’ve always been artistic, as a kid, I loved drawing and painting.
My mom and my sister are beauticians, when they were in beauty school I was around 8 years old and I read all their books and practiced everything they were doing so I basically grew up in a beautiful environment but it was until around 23 when I started taking makeup more seriously,
I started practicing on myself, then my family and then my friends, they would all tell me to do it professionally but I was scared, I knew I was good at it but I just needed to be validated by someone professional, that’s when I decided to go to makeup school and get certified as a makeup artist.
In 2016, I graduated from makeup and hair school, I won first place in my generation. After that, I decided to start my own makeup studio in Mexico until I moved to Utah a few years ago, I was scared to start doing makeup here in Utah because I didn’t know anyone, I had no friends or potential clients but I decided to do it anyway, I started in march of 2020 as a side hustle and I was able to become full time in January of 2021.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For me, one of the hardest things to be a makeup artist here in Utah was putting my name out there because I didn’t know anyone, I had no friends or potential clients.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a makeup artist, I do makeup for any occasion, I specialize in bridal, I consider that I’m known for my pink soft glam and glowy skin which is my signature look. I’m very proud of being able to become full-time makeup artist in less than a year in a new country
What sets me apart from others is that I give my heart to every client, I connect with every one of them in a personal way that at the end of the appointment I feel like I earned a new friend. My purpose is to help other women look and feel their most beautiful selves through my art.
I want to make them feel special and bring the look of their dreams into reality.

That I’m very insecure about myself and makeup has given me more self-confidence and I want to share that with other woman, I want to help them feel their most beautiful self.
