Today we’d like to introduce you to Giulia Tizzano.
Hi Giulia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was a successful physiotherapist in Rome, but I was not happy. During a trip to Africa, where I was in charge of humanitarian projects, I got to the realization that there was more in the world for me. So I quit my job, sold my stuff, and went to travel around the world by myself for a year. On that trip, I had profound spiritual experiences and met incredible people who guided me to find my true self. I became a yoga teacher, I studied meditation and I helped local communities around the world.
After that first trip, I decided to not return to my old life and keep traveling. That decision led me to learn from different healers, teachers and shamans in Central and South America shaping my practice as a healer.
I ended up in Salt Lake City for love and even though it wasn’t the place that I expected myself to settle in, I was received with a lot of support and love by the community. Here I have been able to be fully myself and to be at service with my offerings for the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of the people who reach out to me.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It isn’t always a smooth road. The main challenges arise in balancing my own healing journey while simultaneously supporting others in theirs. I am constantly seeking greater capacity to hold sacred space in order for people to heal themselves within a container of healthy support. It requires me to deepen my journey, hold compassionate space for myself and create appropriate boundaries as I move fluidly through my growth. This is a challenge for all of humanity, and for me it is the most important work and avenue for learning that I have in my profession.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Regarding my professional background, I am trained as a physical therapist, massage therapist, reiki master, yoga teacher, yoga therapy practitioner, meditation teacher, breath work, bach flower practitioner, and shamanic healing. There are many avenues in which I can help along the journey of healing no matter the background of a client. Most importantly, my job is not to “heal” anyone, but to join them on their journey, hold loving space for them to expand and heal themselves and to offer tools along the way to support this process.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
What is luck, if not magic in action with someone who has the capacity to see with wisdom. I have seemingly been guided every step of my journey to meet profound teachers and guides who have led me to the creation of my life’s work. The role of luck and magic has been the breath I breathe as a move through the journey of becoming a healer and healing. Luck, serendipity, hope, purpose, and joy are qualities that I hope to cultivate in everyone that I come in contact with, especially my clients.
