Life & Work with Jessica Pennington of North Ogden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Pennington.

Hi Jessica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hey y’all, I’m Jessica Pennington, founder of J Penn Events (previously In Omnia Paratus Events).

From the first event I planned at 17, I fell in love with the feeling I get when people come together – when friendships are made, stories are exchanged, and communities grow just a little bit closer. That feeling ignited a passion in me that I’ve carried forward into everything I do.

As the founder of In Omnia Paratus Events, I’ve made it my mission to create spaces where people connect, celebrate, and make lifelong memories. For me, it’s never just about the party; it’s about the people.

Recently, I took that mission a step further by publishing my first book, Poor Girl’s Party Planning: Making Core Memories. It’s a guide for anyone who wants to celebrate without feeling stressed about budget or not knowing how to plan. This book is all about child’s parties, with a heavy dose of self-love and boundaries for the parents reading it!

I’m also excited to be adding public speaking and Connection Coaching to my journey this year as well!

My Connection Coaching journey will feature the Affinity Astron – a soul-guided constellation of connection we illuminate together!

Drawing from years of entrepreneurial experience and a deep understanding of human connection, I’m helping people foster friendships, grow their businesses, and bring their communities together in powerful and purposeful ways.

I truly believe that when we connect — person to person — we become better, kinder, and more successful in all aspects of our lives. I’m excited to see where this path will take me next, and I’d love for you to come along for the ride.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Every road has its twists, turns, and potholes — and the entrepreneurial journey is no exception.

2025 has taken me in directions I never expected.

As I rebrand my company to J Penn Planning, it’s a reflection of all I’ve become this year — a published author, a public speaker, and a connection coach, in addition to being an event planner.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Although I’m best known for my events, I’m most proud of my recent development into a connection coach, and the creation of The Affinity Astron!

The Affinity Astron is a tool designed to navigate the who, what, when, where, why, and how of your connections – with yourself and with others.
The goal is always to help you find your way back to a more connected and mentally healthier, happier YOU.

It’s not just a framework; it’s a way to help people foster deeper connections, grow their confidence, and appreciate their own worth. It has profoundly influenced not only my own journey, but now is also influencing the journeys of many others!

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t really believe in luck. I believe in creating your own opportunities – through hard work, networking, having the confidence to reach out, and the ability to hear “no” without letting it hold you back.

As for the people I’ve met along the way, although I do feel profoundly lucky to have them in my life, I don’t think that was luck either. I believe they were put in my life for a reason – as each connection has played a part in shaping my path.
