Today we’d like to introduce you to Julio Paez Castellanos.
Hi Julio, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Julio Paez Castellanos, I am 35 years old, a Venezuelan lawyer, and a professional photographer. I started my small business about a year ago, I remember while I was driving as an Uber Driver and I was praying and asking God for my talent and, He answered me through a photo that my talent was to capture people’s best moments when they are enjoying themselves without them even noticing.
I am in this incredible moment, first, thanks to God for giving me the opportunity to be here and showing me what my talent is, And second, I am so grateful for my friends because they have supported me a lot since day 1.
I enjoy capturing moments where the best version of people is the one that includes their smiles. I enjoy taking a picture without people realizing it other than when they see it digitally and smile again because they remember what a wonderful time they were having at that moment.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course, nothing in life comes easy, Absolutely I have been some struggles along the way because I did not have an idea how to edit a picture or a photo, I did not know how lighting room and photoshoot worked, all I knew was how to take a great picture but I did not have any idea how to edit it, that’s why I started to watched a video on YouTube and it was really frustrating because I was not able to understand the rules of photography, the elements of a photo, the angles that can be used or how important it is to use a good lighting in order to get a great photo.
When I bought lightroom and photoshoot I started to discover by myself how both worked, so I tried to figure out how to edit a specific subject and how can change the background, how I can heal the pictures, and how can I add text to the photos. It was a world of the discovery of what the photography means. Now I have been learning so much every single day using both of these amazing programs because I let my imagination go places I have never been to, and I really enjoy it!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Each photo shoot I have, I try to be real, to be different, I try to do it with love, I try to transmit peace to people, to have them really enjoy the moments as well. Marriages, Quinceaneras or sweet Sixteens, birthdays, or any celebration, I know that I always have something special to offer. My smile is my best presentation.
My specialization is in taking the best photoshoot ever because I make a photo album with an incredible cover, and I give my clients 200 pictures edited and printed as well, Every time I create the album and they receive it, their smile is my biggest reward, because they never imagined their faces when they were dancing or talking at the celebration.
I am so proud of myself because I started this amazing career without any knowledge only with a great motivation for myself and for my friends as well, but I did not have any idea how to be successful, and I consider that God has a specify plan for each person and for me it is to capture and to preserve memories for the family.
