Life & Work with Kenzie Dew of Stansbury Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenzie Dew

Hi Kenzie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I was always drawn to the idea of creating beautiful, meaningful spaces. As a child, I would redecorate my bedroom over and over again, using it as a canvas to express myself. For me, interior design was never just about furniture or decor—it was a form of art and self-expression that brought me so much happiness.
That passion only grew stronger over the years. I started an Instagram blog where I shared my design ideas and projects, connecting with others who shared my love for creativity and beautiful spaces. One of the most transformative experiences of my life was designing and building my dream home—a project that pushed my creativity to new heights and solidified my skills as a designer.

But life took an unexpected turn when a devastating house fire destroyed that very home. While it was heartbreaking, it also became an opportunity to rebuild, reimagine, and recreate. Starting from scratch, I poured my heart into redesigning the space, creating a home that was not only beautiful but deeply personal. Although I no longer live there, I am still proud of what I was able to create.

Today, I’m more passionate than ever about interior design. I believe that our spaces should reflect who we are and bring us joy and healing every single day. Helping others find creative ways to express themselves through design is one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey. Whether it’s choosing the perfect color palette, arranging furniture, or incorporating personal touches, I love helping others transform their spaces into places they truly love.

While my journey has had its challenges, it’s also been a story of resilience, creativity, and growth. Through it all, I’ve discovered that design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about creating spaces that tell a story, inspire, and bring happiness and even more importantly, comfort and healing. And I’m so grateful to be able to share that passion with others every day.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like many creative journeys, mine hasn’t been without its challenges. One of the most significant obstacles I faced was the house fire that completely destroyed my home. It was a heartbreaking moment—not just because of the loss of a space I had poured so much of myself into, but also because it felt like a part of my story had been erased. My children’s safe haven was gone. It was truly heartbreaking.

But from that experience came one of my greatest lessons: design is about so much more than creating something beautiful. It’s about resilience, adaptation, and the power of starting over. Rebuilding and redesigning my home from scratch was both challenging and therapeutic. It reminded me how important it is to create spaces that feel deeply personal and meaningful, even during tough times.

Another challenge I’ve faced is the emotional toll of balancing personal struggles while maintaining my passion for design. Going through a divorce was another chapter in my life that has tested me, but it also reaffirmed my belief in the importance of creating spaces that provide comfort and reflect who we are. Through it all, my passion for design has been my anchor, giving me a creative outlet and a sense of purpose. We can do hard things! Cling to those you love most, look for the glimmers, and never stop doing what brings you joy.

In addition to personal challenges, stepping into the professional design world came with its own hurdles. Putting myself out there—starting my Instagram blog, sharing my work, and taking on new projects—required vulnerability and courage. There’s always the fear of criticism or failure, but I’ve learned that growth only happens when you’re willing to take risks.
Each challenge I’ve faced has shaped me into the designer and person I am today. They’ve taught me that every obstacle is an opportunity to grow, to learn, and to create something even more meaningful. And those lessons are something I bring to every project I work on, helping others overcome their own hurdles to create spaces they truly love and can find comfort in.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work as an interior designer is all about transforming spaces into personal sanctuaries that reflect individuality and tell a story. I believe that every room should feel like an extension of the people who live in it, blending functionality with beauty in a way that sparks joy and inspires creativity.

I approach each project with a mix of intuition, creativity, and care. To me, design isn’t just about what’s trendy—it’s about creating spaces that feel inviting, functional, and authentically “you.” At the heart of my work is the belief that great design should elevate your life and make your everyday moments more beautiful. Your home should be your safe space, away from the world. It should bring you calm and happiness. It should be healing. While also expressing who you are.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success is about alignment—living and working in a way that reflects who you are and what you love. It’s not about perfection or following a specific formula; it’s about finding joy and fulfillment in the process, not just the result.

Success is also about resilience and growth. Life has thrown me some challenges, from losing a home to rebuilding it, and navigating personal transitions. Each of those moments has taught me that true success isn’t just about achievements—it’s about how you rise, adapt, and stay true to yourself along the way.

Lastly, success is seeing the impact of my work. It’s about knowing that I’m making a difference, big or small, and staying passionate about what I do every day.
For me, success isn’t a destination—it’s an ongoing journey of doing what I love, staying authentic, and bringing value to others in the process.
