Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Baldwin.
Hi Melissa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
It was New Year’s Day 2014, I began that day at the gym, climbing the dreaded revolving stairs trying to lose the pounds of holiday treats I’d consumed between Halloween and New Year’s Eve.
In search of motivation for the year ahead, I was listening to an inspirational podcast and at some point, during those forty-five minutes, I decided to write a book.
That’s all I remember. Six months later I published my first of twenty-eight books. In February of 2022, I hit the USA Today Bestsellers list. Something I never thought possible. Over the years writing has been my escape– the light in my darkest days. It has helped me through secondary infertility, grief, sadness, loneliness, and hopelessness.
It has also given me the opportunity to meet and connect with many talented authors, loyal readers, and new friends. What a rewarding journey this has been. I’m beyond grateful for everyone who has supported me along the way, and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have been many ups and downs along the way.
Putting myself out there with each new book never gets easier. Imposter syndrome, self-doubt, writer’s block, and fear of failure have been part of my journey.

I’m an award-winning, bestselling author of twenty-eight Romantic Comedy and Cozy Mystery novels and novellas. I write about charming, ambitious, and real women, and I consider these leading ladies to be part of my tribe.
When I published my first book, I had no idea I would continue and still be writing nine years later. In 2022 I hit the USA Today bestsellers list and I’ve had a few options for potential movie deals,
What makes you happy?
This is a great question. What makes me happy?
Family, friends, memories, the ocean, writing, reading, traveling, McDonald’s Diet Coke, going on rides at Disney, the sunrise, mornings.
