Life & Work with Monica Tuttle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Tuttle.

Hi Monica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have loved real estate for as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t my career until recently. I’ve been in software sales for 8 years and knew that my skill set could translate. I love people and have a passion for helping others. As my family life evolved over the last 8 years, I knew my career needed to evolve as well. It was challenging to balance being a stay-at-home mom and learning everything I needed to be successful as a realtor. I wanted to show my kids that you can go after what you want and be successful!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Doing 120 hours of coursework all while taking care of three children ages 5 and under is not a simple task! Also, during the year that I was preparing to become a realtor, we sold our home and managed the process of building another. I also trained (for several months) and ran my 2nd marathon the week before passing my exam. The road to this point in my career has been far from easy, but life is so much better when you chase your dreams and you don’t let life get in the way.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a realtor with Ulrich Realtors, based in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. I love working and connecting with people on their real estate journey! My goal is to help them with what can be a complicated and intimidating process. I pride myself in being ethical, a strong communicator, and a resource in guiding a customer from start to close.

I also own a staging company! This can be a service to my clients that list with me, but it’s also something that I run independently of my real estate. My services add a ton of value, especially to small builders who want to beautifully stage their new builds! I am working on partnerships with local boutiques to help beautifully stage homes!

I use my background in technology sales and marketing to bring a modern approach to real estate. Gone are the days of just throwing a sign up and waiting for “something to happen.”

I also have an instagram (@monicatheutahrealtor) where I try to provide very relevant information to people who want to save money in the home selling or buying process. I give professional content that is relevant to local and national markets. I try to build relationships via social media so that people can “get to know me” before even hiring me!

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I am the youngest of 5 kids and grew up in Denver, Colorado. I was very passionate about sports and various activities. My grades were very important to me and I was the type of student that had to work extremely hard and study a lot. But it was important to me and it was a priority. I was on the honor roll and loved learning! My parents valued education and teaching is about other cultures. We hosted 5 different international exchange students growing up, from various countries in Europe and Asia. This made a huge impact on me, personally. I played varsity soccer, ran track and went to State in Swimming (breaststroke). Growing up, I also lived in Australia for 6 months due to My dad’s job. I attended BYU And studied Spanish. I absolutely loved my major and the opportunity it gave me to travel. I did a study abroad in Spain and spent a summer in Mexico. I then lived in Italy for 1.5 years and Learned to speak Italian. I am extremely driven and always have been!
