Today we’d like to introduce you to Nito Knight.
Hi Nito, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My photography career started in 2016 when I was gifted a Canon EOS 70D from my fantastic grandmother. With no prior history with photography, I only used the camera recreationally, taking photos of anything I set my eyes on.
It wasn’t until early this year (2023) that I started to teach myself and get familiar with my camera that I began to dedicate my time and effort to photography. With a better understanding of photography, I push myself with every project and build upon my knowledge every day.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Anything in life will never be smooth, there will always be ups and downs. Photography in particular, I have been at a disadvantage by teaching myself photography without classes or starting young with little to no experience in the field.
On the other hand, I have been able to learn from my earlier work and be very personal with it, I am also blessed to have a great support system around me to help me see things in my artwork that I wasn’t able to before. Not to mention trying to compete in this saturated marketplace full of talented photographers is never easy.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
For now, I am just dipping my hands in anything and everything I can, learning all styles and teaching myself the technicalities of photography. So, I wouldn’t say I have any well-known styles to my name since I’m so fresh to the game.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
People are capable of amazing things when we all come together.
