Life & Work with Talia Beebe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Talia Beebe.

Hi Talia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, I’m Talia! I grew up in Utah county and love everything about Utah. I love spending time outdoors and being with my family. I’ve been married for almost 4 years and we are expecting our first baby boy this September. I loved our wedding day so much so I decided I wanted to get into wedding photography myself!

I have always loved taking photos. I love documenting my life. Whether it was on an old LG flip phone with a camera, or an iPhone, I always found myself being drawn to photos. I got my first camera when I was a junior in high school. I had gotten my first real job and saved up my money to buy one. My camera went everywhere with me. It began as a hobby and turned into my career.

I did my first wedding in 2018. I learned so much from that wedding and I was trying to decide what avenue of photography I wanted to pursue. I did lots of gigs for photography in 2019. I started an online clothing business that year and did all of the photography for it. I loved owning my own business, but I kept finding myself being drawn to the photography aspect of the business. That is what I was loving the most about the online shop. I owned that business for about a year and a half and decided to go full force into photography. It was the best decision I ever made and I haven’t looked back since. I started taking lots of weddings in 2021, and found myself absolutely loving it. I now specialize in weddings and solely do weddings. I love the creative outlet that photography gives me, and how I can keep growing, learning, and improving myself and my business. I can’t wait for all that this career will bring me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely has been a rollercoaster. My first wedding was pretty rough. The clients knew it was my very first wedding and I only charged $250 for a full wedding day and a bridal session. I had a contract but it was definitely not thorough and complete like it is now haha. I wasn’t treated very kindly, I think my clients were expecting a professional for not a professional price, since it was my first wedding. I just think I was taken advantage of but didn’t have my contract or business set up to protect me. But I learned so much and wouldn’t change a thing! I definitely have my business professionalized through and through and am so grateful for each experience.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a professional photographer! I specialize in weddings. I always love being creative with my work. I have educated myself but also taken courses and mentorships from other photographers I look up to. I am most proud of how I carry myself and represent my business. I give true, honest work and make sure my photos are everything my clients will love. I am different because my clients are not just clients, we are friends. I care to make sure the photos represent each couple individually, because no two couples are the same. I care to get to know them, their story, and give them photos that set them apart and that they will love forever.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
When I was little I was always doing crafts. I have always had a creative and entrepreneurship mind. I am constantly thinking about business ideas, and what project I can do next. I love working with my hands and creating things.
