Today we’d like to introduce you to Thiago Angelon
Hi Thiago, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started at jiu-jitsu with 14 years old because I wanted to fight MMA. At the beginning I lost every competition. By the age of 15 I started winning every competition and got many titles in Brazil, where I am from. I stoped training around 18 on my purple belt. And I got back to it after being married and with 2 kids at that point on my 30 years old. I started competing again and went through my brown belt and black on my at that moment winning many competitions in Los Angeles Ca, where we lived for a few years. In Los Angeles I started teaching and I had my first MMA fight.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It wasn’t an easy road. In my process of moving to Los Angeles, working and training, having my three kids already- I started having disconnection manifested in depersonalization and derealization what caused me to have anxiety and panic issues, what I found out later were being caused actually because of gut and intestine issues.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a fighter. A professional fighter, jiu jitsu competitor and professor of adults and children and MMA fighter and coach.
What’s next?
Get Fierce’s MMA belt on my category. I am also training my kids into fighting. They also compete and are really good at it, and have plans for ahead, all champions. My wife works with me and the kids- we all teach the kids class, mma kids class and she also helps around competitions, sponsorships and with the kids physical training to reach our goals.
