Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Beginning the Silver Rose! I went with friends to the Utah Ren Faire in 2021 and saw knights fighting it out in the 100 degree weather. I realized that I knew the referee there and had a way into the sport and never looked back.
The Order of the Silver Rose officially launched early in 2024 with a primary focus on competing at top tier events around the country. I’ve been fortunate enough to fight with Team USA for 15’s and 30’s in Prague in 2023 at the Buhurt League World Championship and again in Mexico for the IMCF world championship.
Recently the team just returned from a 24 team tournament in South Carolina where they went undefeated in our Pool. The team will be competing at the Ventura Mega bowl in California, The Boise Invitational in Idaho and the Castleshield Event in Claregalway, Ireland this year.
We will also be a headlining entertainment at the Price Ren Faire May 2nd and 3rd!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any journey worth mentioning, it has certainly had it’s ups and downs. Fortunately I’ve been blessed by the people in my life and teammates of similar ambitions. Separating from a long established entity due to various differing view points isn’t easy for any organization but what the Roses have built and continue to nurture is nothing short of beautiful. Our community is based on respect and grit. While I give them a hard time as a coach and captain, I wouldn’t trade a single minute I’ve had with the Roses over the past year.

While I love the sport of Buhurt and traveling across the country with my wife and teammates, in my day to day life I work in equity as a Stock Plan Analyst. While not the most exciting job on the face of the earth, it has been a fantastic look into the financial world and allows me to invest more time into the Roses.
What matters most to you? Why?
Certainly my wife, Suzi. She has been a rock of support to me and is the mother of our bulldog Meatball. We got married September, 21st of last year and it’s been incredible traveling the world with her. 2nd only to Suzi and Meatball, certainly the Silver Rose. Having such a dedicated group of teammates constantly striving to improve and meet the next challenge keeps me humble and my heart full. You’d be hard pressed to find a better bunch of people on this planet.

- Small event (30 min fight block, 2-5 knights) – $500 – 750
- Multiple fight blocks, typically $500 per block up to 1500 a day
- Weekend Event pricing (multiple fight blocks, 8-20 knights) starting at 3k+
- Prices vary by contract/desired number of fighters
