Today we’d like to introduce you to Alejandra Marqués Méndez.
Alejandra, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in Venezuela, attended a French school system that was academically brutal from day one, and became someone who didn’t know how to do anything halfway. By the time I hit university I was pursuing two bachelor’s degrees simultaneously, Business Management and Law, graduating at the top of both. Then two master’s degrees at the same time, while working as a university professor and project manager at a research center.
I was, by every external measure, killing it. And I was completely burned out.
That burnout was the best thing that ever happened to me. Not because it felt good, it didn’t, but because it forced me to confront something I had been ignoring: working harder was not the same as working intelligently. I had built an impressive life that didn’t actually fit me. So I left it.
I walked away from a stable legal career at one of the biggest law firms in the country, with no blueprint and no guarantee, and built The Freedom Alchemy™ from scratch. The early days were slow. The vision was always bigger than the results in front of me. But I kept building, kept testing, kept refining, and eventually the business became what I always knew it could be.
Today I work with multi-7 and 8-figure founders as their Freedom Architect and Luxury Backend COO. I build the backend infrastructure, paid traffic systems, and AI ecosystems that allow high-level women founders to scale without becoming the bottleneck in their own business.
The through line from that burned-out overachiever in Venezuela to where I am now is actually very simple: I became obsessed with building systems that create freedom instead of consuming it. For myself first. Then for every client I work with.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth is not a word I would use, no.
The most honest struggle was the gap between leaving a prestigious career and building something that actually worked. When you walk away from a “safe” path, there is a period where you have the vision clearly in your head and almost nothing to show for it externally. That gap is where most people turn back. I stayed in it longer than felt comfortable, and my family stayed with me through all of it, even when they thought I was a little crazy for leaving.
There was also the struggle of being deeply introverted in an industry that rewards loud. I’m not someone who posts every day or performs confidence for an audience. I’m the person who is quietly in the backend of my clients’ businesses, obsessing over the details, running the tests, fixing what’s broken. That kind of work doesn’t get a lot of visibility. Learning to let the results speak without needing to be constantly visible was a real shift.
And then there’s the thing nobody talks about in the online business space: the client fit problem. Early on I took on clients who weren’t ready for what I do. Founders who needed hand-holding, who weren’t clear on their offers, who wanted me to build the vision from scratch rather than architect the infrastructure around a vision they already had. That was expensive in time, energy, and confidence. Getting ruthlessly clear on who I work with and who I don’t, and actually holding that line, changed everything.
