Meet Alex Latu of Latu Realty Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Latu.

Hi Alex, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I graduated with a bachelor’s in psychology with a goal to become a criminal psychologist. Once I started down that path I realized that it would not be something I wanted to do once I had a family. And then got into sales and learned that I loved it and was really good at it. I managed a couple of sales teams and after a few years, I decided I wanted out of the corporate setting and made a plan to quit, have a baby, and dive into real estate. Things did not go as planned as I was included in a Covid-related layoff and I jumped full-time into real estate sooner than planned. But that ended up being the best thing. I was able to spend lots of time learning from the best in the industry prior to having my baby. I gained so much experience quicker than I ever would’ve been able to and was able to position myself to build a successful business.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not completely. There have always been challenges. I am a new mom and business owner. My business really started to pick up after I had my baby in September and was the result of months of hard work making connections with potential clients. It’s definitely hard managing a schedule when you have a baby and on multiple businesses with your husband. Neither of us has concrete schedules we can stick to which is both a blessing and a curse. It means there is no clocking out or checking out at 5 PM every day. The work never really stops. It’s also very daunting being at seven new in the industry in an area that seems to have millions of agents. For me I have surrounded myself with great mentors and friends who have helped me stay consistent and helped me continue to learn everything I need to know about being the best in the biz.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Latu Realty Co.?
I often hear so many horror stories of people who have really bad experiences with uneducated agents. Just because someone has a real estate license unfortunately does not mean they know what they’re doing. My business strives to offer superior service and take care of pretty much everything that anyone could need. I like to take all the hassle out of the transactions for the clients and only involve them when they absolutely need to be. My goal is never to make a sale my goal is to help clients make the best decision for themselves and their lives. Real estate agents aren’t just salespeople, we are consultants and often are consulting on the biggest most important purchases And sales in peoples lives. What we do affects people for years, and even generations.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t really believe in luck so much as I believe in karma and paying it forward. I also am so grateful that I was raised to work hard. I believe that nothing good comes without hard work and surrounding yourself with good people.
