Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Martinez.
Hi Alexandra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Golden Hour Beauty Bar in late 2020, I decided to pursue a career in the beauty industry as I was feeling unfulfilled in my then field. I began my journey towards becoming a licensed beauty professional in 2021 and graduated/became licensed within the same year. Shorts after graduation I began working and networking as a licensed esthetician primarily focusing on lash extensions. I spent the first year working from an at home studio while building my clientele part time. In mid 2022 I decided that in order to grow further in my field I needed to dedicate my time full time to my business so I decided to leave my part time job and began my entrepreneurial journey fully. Since then, I have been able to move into my own private spa suite where I have serviced hundreds of beautiful faces from all over the Salt Lake and surrounding counties. I have been able to grow my brand by focusing on perfecting my craft and offering a service experience that all my clients can enjoy.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any business, it is not always a smooth road. From the moment you start you are met with challenges that require you to show up in a way you may not have otherwise done so before. Some of the challenges I have faced through out my journey have included learning how to operate and manage a business. In beauty school we were only taught how to perform the services we offer but hardly taught us anything about the legalities, marketing and networking that is required in order to bring clients through the door.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a licensed esthetician specializing in lash extensions. I have been able to build a reputable brand for specializing in custom lash extensions and bringing an artistic approach to every service I provide by giving clients a look that enhances their facial features. What sets me apart from others is the attention to detail I include for every client from beginning to end. I am most proud of being known for my craft and for being sought out for creating something that most people overlook as just a beauty service when in reality requires a lot of time to perfect the craftsmanship of it.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I would like to add that it is great that the beauty industry is finally getting the recognition it deserves, many people, myself included have been able to build a career and we are creating a great life from it. We cannot keep overlooking trade careers just because it is not the traditional route
