Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Hill.
Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Amanda Hill and I do my work under the name Lux Healing Arts. I am a Reiki practitioner that uses trapped emotion release, in addition to other modalities to help people learn about the energy flow in their body.
I was introduced to Reiki and Reflexology through my aunt in Maine. She has worked in the industry for 20+ years. I always used alternative medicine and resources for my own family but never thought I would work directly with people. In November 2018 I started a company, called Crystalline Tribe, as an outlet to teach others about the alternative modalities that had helped me on my journey and to sell fun things I created. These modalities helped me overcome anxiety, depression, and addiction.
In January 2019, my fiancé was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer, and our lives were completely thrown upside down. I started using all the tools I had learned through the years and we were going to lots of different practitioners for healing. Huntsman’s Cancer Institute is great at blending Western and Eastern medicine to treat the whole patient, body, mind, and soul.
As he was fighting cancer, I was taking care of myself during this time by getting my Reiki master, my 100-hour Meditation Teacher Training, Trapped Emotion release training and my Reflexology certification. Seeing firsthand how these tools helped my loved one, made me want to help other people. I found healing through learning how to help others find healing within themselves. I now work full-time as a Reiki and Trapped Emotion Release Practitioner at Hearten House in downtown SLC.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always struggles in starting something new. I used to own nightclubs and I DJ’d for a living so after finding sobriety those worlds didn’t fit anymore. I wanted to show my children a healthier way to live life. I was starting over at the age of 40 and had no idea if it would be the right choice but it felt so aligned in my heart, that I can’t imagine it any other way now.

I own Crystalline Tribe which is a fun boutique that sells crystals and handmade items to fulfill my creative outlet. I love teaching and inspiring people to believe in magic!
I do Reiki and Trapped Emotion Release sessions out of Hearten House in downtown SLC and via zoom. I also do Human Design Birth Charts and readings, which if you don’t know what Human Design is, you should check it out! It is astrology on steroids that is an energetic blueprint of your energy flow. I run monthly New Moon meditations at The Creatrix and monthly Human Design classes at Beehive Wellness. I am always throwing other events and sound baths locally as well.
I feel like I am here to help people learn about the unique energy flow in their bodies. When we understand how our energy flows, we can create alignment in our bodies and not be as overwhelmed. I can help a client understand their energy they can stay in a more relaxed, calm state.
What makes you happy?
Honestly, after the last few years of Cancer and Covid, just being at peace makes me happy. My fiancé beat stage 4 Colon Cancer and my children are happy and healthy. I love what I do for work. That is all I can ask for.
