Meet Angelic of Arana and Associates, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelic.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been a nurse for more than 20 years, building experience across a wide range of clinical settings including medical-surgical, cardiothoracic, home health, hospice, and assisted living. Throughout my career, I developed a strong interest in analyzing medical records and understanding the details behind patient care. That interest led me to review thousands of records across multiple specialties, evaluating adherence to nursing and medical standards and identifying potential deviations from the standard of care. While leading quality assurance and patient satisfaction initiatives for a large home health and hospice organization, I realized that my passion was in the investigative and analytical side of healthcare—reviewing records, uncovering inconsistencies, and helping bring clarity to complex cases. That experience ultimately shaped the work I do today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Owning and building your own business comes with constant learning, problem-solving, and adapting. As both a mother and business owner, balancing family responsibilities while growing a business has been one of the biggest challenges. I handle all aspects of the business myself, including marketing, operations, client communication, and day-to-day management, which requires wearing many different hats at once. There have been moments that demanded long hours and persistence, but those experiences have also helped me become more resourceful, disciplined, and intentional about building something meaningful.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is the combination of more than 20 years of nursing experience and my ability to quickly analyze and summarize large volumes of medical records while maintaining attention to detail. I’m known for providing thorough case analysis, identifying important findings and inconsistencies, and delivering high-quality work with a fast turnaround time—something attorneys often need in time-sensitive litigation.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of building this business independently and creating a reputation based on trust, responsiveness, and quality work. My goal is for clients to feel like they have a reliable medical partner who understands both healthcare and the legal process. I want readers to know that behind every case is a real person, and my role is to help attorneys clearly communicate the medical story through organized, evidence-based analysis that supports better outcomes.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Because my work is highly case-specific, I rely heavily on current medical journals and evidence-based literature depending on the issues involved in each case. Staying up to date with evolving standards of care, clinical guidelines, and specialty-specific research is an important part of delivering accurate and thorough case analysis.

One of my most valuable resources, though, has been the professional network I’ve built throughout more than 20 years in nursing. Over the years, I’ve developed relationships with colleagues across different medical specialties, and having trusted professionals to collaborate with and bounce questions and ideas off of has been incredibly helpful. Those conversations often provide additional clinical perspective and help ensure I’m looking at cases from multiple angles.

Beyond formal resources, I’ve found that continuous learning, professional relationships, and curiosity have been some of the biggest contributors to doing my best work and continuing to grow both professionally and personally.
