Hi Bridget, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Hey lovelies! I’m the owner of The Bridal Studio! I truly love wedding dresses and have worked in the bridal industry for over 12 years!
My background is in Fashion Design and when I was in school, I started working at a little bridal shop and fell in love with the process of helping brides find their dream dress! After graduating, I went on to work for a wedding dress designer and traveled across the country consulting bridal shops on everything from social media marketing to sales training, and inventory management. I loved empowering all these women-owned small businesses and helping them be successful!
It had always been my dream to open a bridal shop and noticed Utah was missing a bridal store that offered a memorable experience with a selection of gowns that weren’t so…modest! We know there are a lot of bridal shops in Utah, but let’s be real… We’re a little different from all the rest! Our studio caters to the bride who doesn’t need a modest gown so you’ll find a beautiful selection of everything from sexy, backless silhouettes to timeless styles from exclusive designers. Every designer in the studio was carefully selected from all over the world to curate a collection of hand-picked styles that represented each of our bride’s styles.
More than anything, I created The Bridal Studio to be such a magical experience and for our brides to feel beautiful, supported and so loved!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I opened in the Summer of 2019… as you can imagine a pandemic was not in my business plan! I knew I had to adapt with our bride who normally would plan her wedding a year in advance, was now eloping, and may not have had a timeline to wait to order a dress. In our industry, gowns can take 6-8 months to order as they are all hand-crafted by ateliers. When we reopened, we had gowns available to purchase off the floor and worked with our designers to select gowns that could be available on shorter timelines.
This was also when TikTok had just started becoming popular and Instagram had introduced Reels so during all that downtime I focused on creating content for our gowns! We had so many viral videos and grew our following which in turn helped grow my business as we were still so brand new.
There is no growth without adversity so I like to think the worst is now behind me!
