Today we’d like to introduce you to Chantelle Bishop.
Hi Chantelle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have always had a passion for entrepreneurship since I was a little girl. Looking back on my life, I can see parts of that passion that manifested when I was as young as 11! During my sixth-grade school year, I got supplies from the craft store with my mom and carefully handcrafted floral headbands with lace, fabric, and pearls. A girl in my class bought one from me and I was so excited. I did not realize I had this passion inside me until I took an entrepreneurship class my senior year of high school; I absolutely loved it. That was the beginning of my business career as I discovered my love for business combined with creativity.
I carefully handmake jewelry with dried flowers and freshwater pearls. I really enjoy getting to incorporate my love for flowers and God’s creations into my business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I have spent countless hours researching countless areas, all ranging from product design and quality materials, social media, packaging, graphic designing, business marketing, website building, and everything in between. It is challenging to wear all the hats that come with being a business owner, but I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way. It is so gratifying to see ideas in my head come to life, and for so many people to love and appreciate my work and what I stand for.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I create jewelry by hand, made with real dried flowers. I also love to incorporate freshwater pearls to many of my designs. All of my earring stud posts are 14k gold plated sterling silver for the best quality.
I am also known for my custom orders. My customers will mail me their own sentimental dried flowers, (whether they be from a wedding, funeral, or other special event) and I preserve those flowers inside their jewerly style of choice. They can choose any style they like best, and I create a meaningful piece of jewelry for them that they can wear every day and keep forever. It is a very special way to preserve such meaningful memories.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I have always had a love for the Lord, learning, and creativity. These things have played a huge part in my business. I put a large emphasis on the bible verse, Philippians 4:13, and include this verse on my packaging. I love that I get to do and share what I love, being the artist of my brand and learning new things each day.
I have outgrown much of my shyness since I was a little girl, as I (sometimes) enjoy speaking, performing with my guitar, and connecting with new people. Although putting myself and my business out into the world can be very uncomfortable for me at times, I get so much fulfillment form lifting others up, building meaningful relationships, and further developing my skills and talents.
