Meet Claudia Munoz of Sweet Bites

Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudia Munoz.

Hi Claudia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
After years in the medical field, I found myself longing for something more — the freedom of entrepreneurship. I wanted to build something of my own, to be in charge of every detail rather than working for someone else. In 2024, I discovered my passion for French macarons and began practicing nonstop, determined to master the craft. What started as a simple hobby quickly turned into something more, as friends and family couldn’t get enough of the delicate cookies I was making.

I began selling at local pop-up markets that same year, and the excitement from customers inspired me to dream bigger. I set my sights on opening my own commercial kitchen in 2025 — a goal that pushed me to work harder than ever. Along the way, an incredible opportunity came up to open a storefront, and Sweet Bites was born.

Today, Sweet Bites is known for its elegant presentation, creative variety of flavors, and seasonal collections that make every visit a new experience. It’s a story of passion, persistence, and a reminder that beautiful things can come from taking bold chances.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth process — there have been plenty of hiccups and challenges along the way. Learning to make macarons alone came with its fair share of trial and error; they’re such delicate treats that even small changes in temperature or humidity can make a big difference. But beyond perfecting the product, there was an entirely new world to figure out — all the paperwork, permits, and logistics that come with starting a business.

I also had to teach myself things I’d never done before, like social media marketing, branding, and managing a growing customer base. Every step has been a learning experience, but those challenges have made the journey even more rewarding. Looking back, each obstacle pushed me to grow into not just a baker, but a true business owner.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Sweet Bites?
At Sweet Bites, we specialize in handcrafted French macarons made with high-quality ingredients and a lot of attention to detail. We’re known for our elegant presentation, creative flavor combinations, and the wide variety we offer — from classic favorites to unique seasonal creations. I love bringing new ideas to life and creating macarons that not only taste amazing but also look beautiful and memorable for any occasion.

I think what sets Sweet Bites apart is the experience behind every box. From the way each macaron is presented to how we design collections around themes or seasons, everything is done with care and creativity. I also value connecting with my customers — whether it’s at our storefront, a market, or through custom orders — and making sure they feel the love and effort behind every bite.

I’m most proud of how far the brand has come in such a short time. Sweet Bites started as a small idea in my kitchen, and now it’s grown into a storefront that brings joy to so many people. Seeing customers return, hearing their excitement about new flavors, and watching Sweet Bites become part of their celebrations — that’s what makes all the hard work worth it.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest advice is to just start — even if things aren’t perfect yet. You’ll never have every answer or every detail figured out, but taking that first step is what leads to growth. There will be mistakes, challenges, and moments of doubt, but those are all part of the process.

I also wish I knew how important it is to give yourself grace while learning. Running a business means wearing so many hats — baker, marketer, designer, accountant — and it can feel overwhelming at times. But with every challenge comes progress. Be patient with yourself, stay consistent, and keep your passion at the center of everything you do. That’s what truly keeps you moving forward.
