Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ New Era.
DJ New Era, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my journey as a bootlegger in high school. I was known as the CD man around the campus. I finished high school around 2005 and attended college at The University of Alabama Huntsville. I stopped selling CDs because my attention was so locked in on making new friends and learning the area.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a hard road! When you are a new DJ you have to find your lane. I came into the business with the understanding of being a mixtape DJ. I struggled to get new music and I also struggled to get my CDs on bigger platforms. In the long run, I’m thankful for the struggles because they made me who I am today!
Thanks so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a full-time radio personality and DJ. I work full-time for Iheartmedia and I also run my own entertainment called ‘Fitted Cap Low Movement.’ I specialize in turning up clubs, private events, college parties and so much more!
I am most proud of being the official DJ for the University of Alabama Men’s and Women’s Athletics. What sets me apart is my determination and my desire to grow.

I’ve experienced more good luck than bad luck in my journey. Good luck means being at the right place at the right time. This business is all about who you know!
