Meet Grace Wamsley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Grace Wamsley.

Hi Grace, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Hello! When I was about 10 years old, I somehow convinced my parents to let me have a Boston Terrier and raise a few litters. From that point on I loved raising puppies. I had a few mentors along the way, including my wonderful parents. A few years later I stumbled upon the Goldendoodle breed. I fell in love with the breed but wanted to find a smaller size with a calmer temperament. After months and months of research, I found the Cavapoo, I was instantly whisked off my feet! Now 8 years later I am grateful and happy to say I continue to breed one of the best breeds, Cavapoos, Goldendoodles, and Bernedoodles alongside my partner, my mom, Cindy.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. When Cindy and I first started we had no idea what it truly took to be a high-quality dog breeder. There have been a lot of obstacles we’ve had to overcome. Even though it’s been hard, we’ve learned so much and I feel it’s brought us even closer together.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Cindy and I raise top-quality doodles and occasionally registered purebreds. Cindy and I would say we are known for our adorable-looking puppies whom also have great health and took to training very easily. More than a few of our clients have said they were expecting a sleepless first night with their puppy and were quite surprised when their pup slept through their first night! We are humbly proud of our parent dogs. We’ve spent thousands upon thousands plus hours of research to find not only the healthiest parents but also parents with wonderful temperaments and confirmation. Not only do our puppies set us apart as Cindy and I have dedicated ourselves to our breeding program and our clients even after they receive their puppy. We help our clients with the transition, training tips, and finding the right puppy for them.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
We have learned that finding the right owner for the puppy and vice versa is crucial. We have had a few clients along the way whom thought they were ready for a puppy, and we should have advised them to wait or turned them away as they were not ready timing-wise. Finding the right puppy for our clients is very important to us. We want all of our puppies to have a happy life with their forever families.
