Meet Greg Marshall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Greg Marshall.

Hi Greg, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started out straight out of college in the fitness industry since that is what my degree was in out of Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah. When I began my career I was a personal trainer who worked out of Gold’s Gym selling personal training packages. I ended up doing really well so I got promoted into management which is where I really learned not only how to grow and sell more personal training packages but to also hire and recruit new people for my staff. After I got really good I ended up getting promoted again to running multiple personal training departments in the Wasatch front area.

Once I felt like I had gone as far as I could go in that particular company I then branched off and started my own personal training company. The company did really well with the people that we were provided by the gyms we were contracted out of. We were very strong in sales but extremely weak in the marketing department. That is where I decided to put all of my focus from that point forward in that business. I knew that if we could generate more appointments on our own we would be able to control the growth of our business. This is where I attended an event in California with a group of high-level entrepreneurs and they taught me how to do Facebook ads when they were first coming out.

Once I saw the opportunity that running Facebook ads provided I pretty much became obsessed with getting better results with every campaign. It got to the point where I had a really strong formula for what the ads had to say and what the images needed to look like in order to get a response. I became effective enough that I started getting asked by other companies not in the fitness industry if I could do what I was doing for personal training company for their business. And ever since then I transitioned fully into providing marketing services for businesses.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was not a smooth road because I had to learn a brand new industry that I was never in before and essentially had to start from scratch. Some of the struggles that I ran into running this business was not knowing what types of businesses would be best for me to focus on. Another obstacle that I ran into was I had a pretty steep learning curve for every new industry that I got into because I only knew the marketing aspect not necessarily their industry. ( this proved to be beneficial over the long term though) Another obstacle I ran into was people were not taking me seriously because of my history of being a personal trainer versus a digital marketer.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Fiture LLC?
My company specializes in marketing services specifically on the paid ads side on social media. We help business owners come up with marketing messages that sell their business rather than just show their business. What sets our company apart from the competition is we are a marketing agency that is more focused on sales and conversions versus reach and impressions. I am the most proud brand wise of how many minority owned businesses we have as clients and how successful we have been able to make them. I want the readers to know if they are looking to increase their sales and conversions and they struggle with what to say in their ads and their websites in order to get the conversions then we would be a perfect fit for them. We create customer offerings based on what the customer needs and we assess their websites and all advertising materials both online/offline and create a marketing system for them that focuses heavily on conversion (sales)

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I am a huge believer in self-education so I listen to the perpetual traffic podcast every week, the most influential book I have ever read for my career has been the inner game of selling by Ron Willingham, my favorite blog to keep up with all of the newest marketing info is Neilpatel.com and my favorite app to use to manage everything is a telegram.
