Today we’d like to introduce you to Hailey Ambrose.
Hi Hailey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Growing up my mom instilled a love for decorating the house for every holiday, going above and beyond for every single bridal or baby shower she threw. We would get so excited when someone in our family had a reason to celebrate them. I got my love from event planning from my mom. I absolutely loved planning my wedding and working alongside with my wedding planner inspired me to want to make everyone’s dream to reality, whether it be a little date night or a wedding dinner. We are a group of sisters and my mother who all are very passionate about creating special moments for those who book an event with us. We all know how stressful planning parties, date nights, proposals, bachelorette parties, baby showers can be. That is why we created Sis N Law Co., to reduce your stress and be able to go above and beyond for each person who books an event whether it be big or small with us. To allow them to focus on their special occasion with no stress associated with it.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It is not as easy as you might think it is to even throw a picnic fairy party for 8-12 kids can be a lot of work. We started our business towards the end of Summer and had to hurry and transition in getting bookings before the Winter hit and then advertise indoor events as well. It is hard to get your name out there and competing to get business with those who are a well-established business. Honestly social media can be tricky, one post might draw a lot of people to our social media page and get bookings and then we will have a few weeks with less traffic to our page with even more posts. It is just navigating all the social media algorithms and getting the word out about our business to those in Utah.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am just about to graduate with my bachelor’s degree in Public Health with a Health Science emphasis in April from Brigham Young University. I currently work for the state, I spent the last 7 months working with some youth in the Juvenile Justice System teaching them behavior skills and advocating for certain youth for their hearings. When I graduate, I am excited to be able to put more time into our business and hopefully be able to make our business flourish.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
If there is something that you are wanting to create a business out of, don’t wait just get going on it. I was fortunate to be able to have my husband and the girls on my side of the family who all were passionate about starting a luxury picnic company, so finding those who support you and surrounding yourself around them. There will be times where it might be discouraging and you might want to just give up, but if you keep going it will all pay off in the end.
