Meet Jeremy Horn of Sandy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Horn

Jeremy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started training in martial arts when I was 12 and I was instantly hooked. I trained non-stop until I was about 17 or so. When the first UFC happened I knew that that was the direction I wanted to take so I started to tailor my training to be more like what I was seeing on TV.

I had my first fight when I was about 20. After that I started seeking out anyone I could find to learn more from. I connected with Pat Miletich soon after and than I moved to Iowa in December of 1998. The sport was exploding at that point so it was easy to get fights everywhere. I started fighting anywhere I could. In 1999 I think I had about 30 or so fights. Almost every weekend and sometimes multiple fights in one weekend or even one day. I fought everywhere and as often as I could. In about 2004 I moved to Utah and opened my own gym and since then I have been focusing more on training others as my career slows down.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
MY life and career has been exciting, for sure, but fairly smooth.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a professional MMA fighter and trainer. I have had about 170 fights and have trained 5-6 world champions in the UFC and around the world. I have spent my entire life training in martial arts. I love teaching and watching people grow.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I think seeking out what you love to do and finding someone who has experience in that field can help you get where you are looking to go.
