Hi Kami, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Hi, my name is Kami Clark. I have been a hairstylist for 19 years and love it. I wanted to branch out my creativity. I have always loved hats but I wanted something MORE… And that’s where Whiskey Stone comes in. I want every woman to feel beautiful and confident. I custom-make handcrafted Fedora and Cowboy hats. They are all one of a kind. When my customers come and shop I tell them the hat will speak to you and they do.
I love seeing how happy everyone is leaving with their one-of-a-kind unique hat. They are the perfect statement piece. Weddings. Special occasions. Raining. Snowing. Bad hair day. I got you… And I back up my product and only get the best quality hats made in the USA.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I started this business about 2 1/2 months ago, so I am still figuring out what works and what doesn’t.
Who is my audience? I would love to have my hats In a store. I have loved seeing which personalities go with what hat. I just need to get my name out there at the moment.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Well…. when I think about who Kami Clark is I think she is a badass. I have overcome some pretty hard obstacles and do it with a smile. I have been a hairstylist for 19 years. I love decorating houses and remodeling them. I have an eye for creativity.
I have 4 beautiful children and 2 are twins. I have 1 amazing lab that is surely special. I have done CrossFit for 5 years and I am proud of my strength. I am proud of the woman I am. No matter what I am going through I will always be there for my friends and family. I want to make people’s lives better by being in it.
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I have always taken risks. I feel as if life would be boring to me if I didn’t.
Do something every day that scares you right? I mean I am not about to get on a plane and Jump out of it anytime soon. But if someone has ever doubted me I show them I can. I don’t ever want to label myself as “I can’t do something”. Making yourself proud is something no amount of money could ever do.
