Today, we’d like to introduce you to Kayleigh Dixon and Randi Rose.
Hi Kayleigh and Randi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Our sisters wanted to own a bookstore, so we built a bookshop on wheels. We spent the summer last year building out the trailer with the help of our husbands, and it opened in September 2023.
We sell new books, many of which are popular on BookTok and Instagram, as well as bookish merchandise. Our favorite part of this job is the recommendations we get to give and the conversations we are lucky enough to have with our customers about books!
Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
It has been wonderful! We have seen an overwhelmingly positive response from our community and feel so lucky to be a part of it!

We specialize in new book sales. We sell it all! Some of our best sellers are Fantasy, Romance, Thriller, and general fiction, although we also carry nonfiction and kids’ books. Other notable items are our Book Box tote bags, bookmarks, stickers, keychains, pens, and our recent addition of Page Kindle Cases to the shop!
We love collaborating with local female business owners whenever we can, such as Page, Gigi & Bo, and LittleTurkeyShoppe. We also sell a variety of Blind Date with Books, which are wrapped surprise titles that usually come with extras such as bookmarks or stickers!
We are proud of the community we created at The Book Box. We love chatting with our customers and getting to know them. The Book Box is our favorite place; we want it to be our customers, too!
