Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Hurl.
Hi Kelly, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been a Registered Nurse for over 16 years. My work has always been in the hospital setting, including medical, surgical, and cardiology, but for the majority of my career I have cared for patients in the Intensive Care Unit. I love helping people.
During Covid, the stress level of caring for people and their families in the hospital setting was indescribable – so much sadness, grief, and death. It was during this time that I began to reevaluate my own priorities and what my future would look like. I believe strongly in a holistic approach to health and felt compelled to learn more about how we can take care of ourselves to prevent hospital admissions and illness in general. Moving our bodies, taking our vitamins, and being proactive for our own health seemed to often take a back burner for individuals, and I wished to change that. What if we focused on becoming well, instead of waiting until we were already sick to do something about our health?
There is so much to learn about how our bodies function and work properly and I felt compelled to learn more about vitamins, minerals, and supplementation. I was so used to giving medicine in the hospital setting but often wondered what we could do to help ourselves, without the use of pills, elixirs, and tablets. I read articles, researched supplements, spoke with physicians, colleagues, and nutritionists, and took a class on IV infusions and injectables. I learned about the positive effects of supplementation and how these supplements can create a healthier version of ourselves from the inside out. I learned about the impact these supplements can have on our brains and our bodies and I learned about the importance of such to prevent certain diseases and physical symptoms.
I realize that our health impacts our daily life and it is my hope to help others achieve optimal health. As a nurse who is skilled in IV therapy, it is my honor to help combine knowledge, expertise, and education into the world of supplementation through IV vitamin and mineral infusions and injections. Hence, Thrive Infusion was born – a wellness journey for all of us.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Having worked in the hospital setting for the entirety of my career, I had a lot to learn about the business world and what it meant to start my own business. I still have a lot to learn! I have spent many late nights looking up information, joining online communities that support small businesses, and referencing similar endeavors. I feel fortunate to have connected with a few people who have generously guided me, offered support, and given constructive feedback about my ideas and goals.
Without outside funding, I have continued to work full-time in the hospital ICU setting while working hard in my “off hours” to make my dream a reality. There have been a few roadblocks, some missteps, and lots of uncertainty, but I knew in my heart that I wanted to keep moving forward to make Thrive Infusion a reality – and here we are!
As you know, we’re big fans of Thrive Infusion. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Thrive Infusion is a mobile business that offers vitamins, minerals, and supplements (both infusions and injections) to clients in the comfort of their own homes, office, or hotel room.
We offer a variety of infusions that are customized to a client’s need or desire. Tired? We have an infusion that contains a Vitamin B complex and an Amino Blend combination that is helpful to restore energy, boost your metabolism, and improving your performance. Worn out from travels or regrouping from a recent illness? We have an infusion that contains Vitamin C, Zinc, and Vitamin B complex that helps to boost your immunity.
Our infusions and injections help to support a list of symptoms we frequently suffer from fatigue, lack of energy, decreased performance, mental fog, dehydration, dry hair/skin/nails, and more! Our goal is to help you feel your best.
A customized infusion takes about one hour, is absorbed quickly and directly into the bloodstream to provide enhanced benefit, and can relieve some symptoms almost immediately. Infusions are generally recommended to be done every two to four weeks for optimized effect.
As a mobile business, we can be flexible on our timing, our location, and our services. If you’re feeling under the weather, we can come to your home and provide an infusion while you’re resting in bed or on the couch. If you’d like to plan an infusion party with friends, we can accommodate that too! Energy infusions, our Beauty Blend, and Hangover Help would all be the perfect choices for a group setting. Clients pick the details of when and where and Thrive Infusion can do the rest. Safe, convenient, and professional.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
We moved to Draper from a smaller town in Oregon during the height of covid. We were drawn to the location and close proximity of the mountains, lakes, and trails. We love the outdoors! Draper is a wonderful place to call home and is the perfect place to run a business – close enough to Salt Lake City, but far enough out to avoid some of the issues of the bigger city.
One thing we miss is the ability to ride our bikes around town (something we could do in Oregon) to explore different shops and eateries.
