Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Day.
Hi Kevin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began racing mountain bikes in my early teens. It was a deviation from standard ball sports that most kids my age were involved in, but I had a few close friends that were also interested. We spent our afternoons after school searching for new trails and challenging each other. We then discovered a local race series and became hooked.
I continued racing through my teens and turned professional in my early twenties. Since then, I’ve raced for a number of teams and sponsors, all across the US and Canada.
Now, nearly twenty years later, I find myself racing a bit less but still very involved in the sport of competitive cycling; through private coaching and mentorship.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been less than smooth, but that’s where we build the best experience and character.
Life as a professional athlete is very challenging. At times, good support was hard to come by so we had to be scrappy when it came to travel and accommodations. Competing at that level takes a lot of time and effort as well, so working a full-time job and attending college also provided its challenges. My wife and I made the very best of it, though, and were able to make some incredible life-long friendships, and connections and see some beautiful places during our travels.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
KDAY Racing is a private skill and fitness coaching program for cyclists of all levels.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?

The Gary Vee Audio Experience
