Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Daw.
Hi Kim, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have been an interior designer for over 10 years and have just switched gears to art. I create large scale abstract paintings, up-cycle skis, and snowboards, and capture places and things that speak to me in black and white photography.
This change actually started with a faith crisis that happened in my late 30s that led to my battle with alcoholism. It owned me for years. I started listening to sobriety podcasts and heard on one that they prayed for the mental obsession to go away, I tried it and it worked for me!
It took years to get the balance and peace back into my life. Here it is!
My hope is for people to enjoy the same peace and happiness that was felt while making my art in their own spaces.
I will always donate a portion of my profits toward fighting addiction through recovery!
This is just the beginning!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In life. Faith crisis/ alcoholism.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
All of my art is inspired by the colors and textures of nature. I created an original medium for my paintings and the story, feel and purpose is what I love the most. (Story on earlier slide)
What were you like growing up?
I grew up in Burley, Idaho it’s a small town on the Snake River. Fun, happy, I loved sports, dancing, my friends, and family. I have always been a hard worker and a people person.
