Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Watson.
Hi Lauren, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Cars are my life. I live, breath, and exist everything cars. I spent years in school for automotive technology, worked at various shop, and spent 2.5 years in the high end restoration industry. I recently started my own restoration shop called Western Drive Restorations LLC with a partner which has been life long dream finally coming to life.
I am also extremely passionate about racing. I always thought racing was only possible for those who came from a racing family or a lot of money. Luckily, a good friend introduced me to the word of Auto Cross. I started racing at the beginning of 2025 in my built C6 Corvette. I competed in the Utah SSCA region Auto Cross season, racing multiple weekends a month with my friend coaching me. I met so many amazing people and built a lot of skill, determination, and confidence. Since then I have competed in races all over Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, and Montana, drag racing, road course, and auto cross.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not. But that makes it even better.
I have always been an “odd one out” all throughout school and never really fit in. When I discovered the world of cars is when I finally discovered my purpose. Getting my hands dirty, burning rubber, and collecting cars became what I live for.
There will be people who turn against you and stab your back when they feel threatened by your success, but the support of those who truly care will always outway the negative. Hold those people close, and pray for those who tear you down, as they are likely struggling on the inside.

My newest business is Western Drive Restorations LLC, A restoration shop that me and a partner recently opened. We specialize in resto mods, restorations, custom metal fabrication, rust repair, bodywork, paint, and repair on classic cars. I have strong belief that cars have souls and personalities, and it’s such an honor to bring them back to life.
