Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Burtch.
Hi Linda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Before I was a Realtor, I was a service industry lifer, working as a server, bartender, manager, etc in restaurants and bars all over Salt Lake City. I got to a point in my late 20s when I realized that there was a ceiling on where I was going, and that no one was going to promote me to a business owner. I had to make moves and follow my passion. Since childhood, I have always been fascinated with our city, the buildings, the history, and how people live. I initially thought that I would pursue architecture, but the barrier to entry seemed complex, as in the early 2000s most of the design and engineering field had moved to technology, which was not my strong suit. Relationships and people have always been my strength, and pursuing a career in real estate seemed to make the most logical sense. I got my license in 2008, a time in real estate where everyone was running in the other direction, and my thought process was that if I learned how to be successful in this industry at a time when everyone else was getting out, I might be able to find success and make it work long term. I am so glad I took that leap, now almost 15 years in the industry, I have helped countless friends, family, and their referrals all make their real estate dreams a reality. Today, I run a small, driven team that is passionate about service, education, and wealth building. We take our jobs as facilitators of people’s largest financial decisions seriously, and make the process easy and even fun to navigate. We focus on providing value and opportunity to our client base, and you can find us hosting events, supporting other local businesses, and having fun in the process!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When you are following a passion and have a purpose for what you are doing, even the hard times and the struggles are worth every second. There is growth in setbacks, and opportunity in hard times, and seeing the silver lining in even the darkest of days makes the journey worth taking. I wouldn’t change a thing!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a small team, consisting of 2 licensed agents, and 2 administrative support staff. We specialize in residential real estate, and commercial development. We are known for our client relationships, local events, and unique ability to guide our clients through the buying and selling process smoothly and confidently. We are proud to work on a 95% referral basis, with repeat clients being the large majority of our success. We truly believe that taking care of people takes care of us. Our real estate company has several events and giveaways throughout the year, and we love meeting new people!
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I have learned over the years is to put relationships first. Support and connect as many people as you can, and your sea of humanity will take care of you and help you to achieve your goals and dreams. Truly, together, everyone achieves more.
