Today we’d like to introduce you to Madeline Hale.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When I became a Pilates instructor, I had no intention of opening a studio. I was living in Austin, Texas, working a full-time marketing job, and got certified simply because I loved the practice.
During that time, I lost my mom and stepped away from my corporate role. When I was able to return to work, teaching one class a week quietly grew into ten, then twenty. Teaching became something steady and grounding during a period of a lot of change.
When I moved to Salt Lake City, I was surprised by the fitness culture. The city is entrepreneurial and fast in a way that felt very different from Austin. People came in, took class, and left. There wasn’t much lingering or connection, and I found myself missing that sense of community.
Over time, I started to notice what I was craving as both a teacher and a client.. fewer gimmicks, expert instruction, challenging classes, and a space that felt elevated and welcoming. That vision slowly became Seven Sisters.
The studio is named after my late mother and her six lifelong friends, women who showed me what consistency, friendship, and showing up for each other actually look like over decades. That spirit sits at the center of everything we do.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have definitely been a few obstacles. I always joke that if I weren’t opening a Pilates studio, I’d probably start a business of sourcing amazing contractors (electricians, plumbers, painters, etc.), because that ended up being the hardest part by far.
Navigating buildouts, timelines, and logistics was a completely new world for me, and it required more patience and problem-solving than I expected. At the same time, I was learning how to run a business, build a team, and stay true to the kind of space I wanted to create.
Looking back, those obstacles shaped the studio just as much as the vision did.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Seven Sisters?
Seven Sisters is a Pilates studio rooted in precision, challenge, and functional strength. We teach from classical principles, delivered through modern, thoughtfully designed classes that are challenging, intelligent, and led by expert instructors.
What sets us apart is our commitment to quality. Our instructors are deeply trained, our classes are intentionally paced, and we take our clients’ goals seriously. We want people to leave feeling genuinely strong and able to tell anyone who says Pilates isn’t challenging that they just haven’t been to Seven Sisters.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how aligned everything feels. From the name and the physical space to the way we teach and communicate, it all comes back to the same values: consistency, care, and showing up well for one another. The studio is named after my late mother and her six lifelong friends, and that spirit of long-term friendship and devotion sits quietly at the center of everything we do.
What I want readers to know is that fitness, whether at Seven Sisters or anywhere else, isn’t about quick fixes or extremes. It’s about moving well for a long time, building trust in your body, and finding strength in your mind and your community. And if someone isn’t sure where to start, Pilates or not, they can always reach out. We’re happy to help guide the way.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something that surprises people is that I know how to draw. I actually drew the Seven Sisters logo!
It still means a lot to me when someone buys merch with my own drawing on it. It’s a small, personal reminder that people are connecting with the brand in a real way.
