Meet Mason Brindley of Salt Lake City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mason Brindley

Hi Mason , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It all started when I got my first guitar when I was 14. Listening to the great bands of the past and seeing my brother play guitar prompted me to start playing as well. I met Max, Andie, and Lucas all in high school but we officially formed Rosander when Max and I received word that our school’s Battle of the Bands competition was coming up. With Max playing drums and myself playing guitar we needed a bass player and a singer. Lucas picked up the bass when we told him about Battle of the Bands and Max knew that Andie sang. That’s how Rosander formed.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There will always be obstacles and challenges when pursuing a dream like this one and what has helped us is knowing that beforehand. That being said. Our biggest challenge so far has been the recording process for our debut EP. We decided to record the songs on the EP all by ourselves which meant learning how to record, mix, and master. Countless hours were spent in our home studio trying to figure everything out. Eventually, we handed over our mixes to our friend Terrance at Counterpoint Studios and he mastered the tracks. Although this was extremely difficult and frustrating, I think we are grateful for this process regardless of how the final product sounds as we have learned and exorbitant amount when it comes to recording now.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
So, I am in the band “Rosander”. We’ve been a rock band for around three years now. I began playing guitar when I was in high school and it soon became the thing that consumed me. The guitar and music have become the focal point of my life. It’s how I identify myself and what I rely on the most.
