My story began with a simple desire to help my community understand and succeed in a system that often feels overwhelming. When I moved to Utah, I noticed that many families and small business owners—especially within the Hispanic community—struggled to navigate taxes, business registrations, and legal paperwork. I wanted to change that.
That’s how Velázquez & Associates was born. I started the company with a small desk, a laptop, and a strong belief that everyone deserves access to honest, professional, and reliable services. Over the years, our firm has grown into a trusted resource for individuals and entrepreneurs across Utah. We provide tax preparation, accounting, payroll, business formation, translations, and immigration support.
My journey hasn’t always been easy—building a business from the ground up takes resilience, long nights, and faith. But every challenge taught me something valuable about leadership and community. Today, what motivates me most is seeing our clients’ success stories—new business owners getting their first license, families getting approved for immigration benefits, and people feeling empowered to grow financially.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has made me stronger. When I first started Velázquez & Associates, I didn’t have a big team, fancy equipment, or marketing — just determination and a deep passion for helping others. I had to learn everything from managing clients and building systems to handling state regulations and running a business in a new environment.
One of the biggest challenges was earning trust. Many people in our community have had bad experiences or fear making mistakes with taxes or legal paperwork. I had to prove, one client at a time, that our firm was different — transparent, professional, and genuinely committed to their success.
There were also financial sacrifices, long nights, and moments of uncertainty, especially during tax season and the pandemic. But each obstacle became an opportunity to grow, to improve our services, and to expand our vision.
Looking back, I’m grateful for every challenge because it shaped the company we are today — strong, ethical, and community-driven

What makes you happy?

Those moments remind me why I started this journey.
Helping people achieve their goals, educating them, and watching them grow gives me a deep sense of purpose. I believe that true happiness comes from serving others and using your knowledge to make a difference in your community.
I also find joy in teaching — I love giving classes and workshops where I can share what I’ve learned and empower others to create their own success stories. Every time I see someone gain confidence and realize that they can do it, that’s happiness to me
