Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Lemaitre.
Morgan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
OMG! Where to start, my career began at 4 as a figure skater. I began an incredibly accomplished figure skater, skating on the United States Synchronized Skating Jr. World Team! I made the first Jr. World team at just 12 years old!!!
After a competitive career, I needed to shift my focus, so I embarked on a “gap years” of the sort, achieving a degree in classical French cooking. My cooking took me to Asia and South America, a highlight was cooking in one of the hotels owned by the King of Thailand.
Back to reality, I wanted to find a job that kept me stimulated and a constant learner. I embarked on a career in finance working for prestigious firms of UBS, Goldman Sachs, and Raymond James, ultimately learning that I wanted to run my own practice where I could truly talk to my clients about everything: Investments, Tax, Legal Issues, Private Investments, etc.
These were all subjects barred at the big firms. That brings us to today, Park City Family Office.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course, the road wasn’t smooth, I wouldn’t be here today!!!!
If we don’t struggle, we won’t shine. I don’t know that my struggles are unique or new; being a woman in a man’s field, being promised things that weren’t delivered, being judged by my youth, rather than my experience… any successful entrepreneur could probably tell the same story of struggle.
How I define myself is by how I view the struggle. I love the saying, “fail fast, fail often”. However, in my world, it’s “fail fast, learn often”. We must look at struggles as opportunities to grow. The more you struggle, push yourself, test boundaries, the more you experience faster and directly. We learn from experiences. One must learn to grow.
Today, I pride myself on maintaining a beginner’s mindset and being wiser than my years.
We’ve been impressed with Park City Family Office, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I help families do great things with their wealth. I believe we are put on this earth to leave it better than we found it. If we are blessed with the opportunity and work ethic to create significant wealth, I believe it is our duty to do great things with it.
This means something different to everyone; to some giving back to their communities, to others investing in ideas that are going to help people, to others it means living a life of purpose and value. We need people to go out into the world and bring their vision and passions with them. That’s where I come in.
The thing I’m most proud of is my work with the upcoming generation. How do we keep a generation of children that have the means to do anything, from doing nothing? That’s where I come in. I help families with great resources keep the next generation engaged, inspired, and committed to making the world a better place.
Ask me about value-based decision-making!
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
Honestly, taking walks in the fresh air helps me do my best thinking. Talking to those who are also inspiring others to do more. I also love Barbara Stanny’s book Sacred Success and the Four Agreements.
