Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronnie Withaeger.
Hi Ronnie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Born in Chicago, Illinois but raised in Las Vegas. Graduated with an accounting degree from UNLV. Spent 10 years working in public accounting doing tax work before I decided to start my own practice. I love small business so I became a small business owner myself. I moved to Utah 5 years ago to start more businesses with my brother-in-law, Brian Brown. We have invested in a few tech companies and built PLUNJ Salt Lake. I have been mostly been involved with service-based businesses but PLUNJ is a different animal. Its brick and mortar, its open all day and its a concept that people are still figuring out so there is a lot of that goes into operations.
I have been married for 18 years, have 4 daughters and they are my focus.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was challenging moving to a new place. My roots were deep in Las Vegas. I had a massive network and coming to a place where I didn’t know many people was an adjustment.
Small business with partners can be hard at times too. People aren’t the same and it can create some hard things but on the other hand it creates some benefit as well.

PLUNJ Salt Lake is a wellness spa that has a clean sauna, warm bucket shower and a cold plunj. Its built based on the Nordic bathhouse experience. People can book 1 hour sesssions and bouce back and forth between the sauna and cold plunj. You will feel amazing on the day of your session but a hidden cool component is the social aspect. The space is communal and there are good vibes, good people and you build great connections and relationships with like minded people. We have a host who carries the experience by telling people how it works, bringing essential oils to pour on the rocks and cleaning the space when you are finished.

Business happens in the sauna too. We have had people buy luxury cars, invest in each others companies, promote each others businesses and build friendships.
