Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Whiting.
Hi Sarah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Becoming a florist has been a dream of mine for many years. I started out by doing flowers for my family and friends’ weddings.
It took me a while, but I eventually posted my work online and have been booking with brides ever since.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I never thought I would actually be a florist, or at least not this soon. I lacked the confidence, I mean I didn’t know how to start my own business!
But a good friend really encouraged me and gave me that push I needed. Even after that, I struggled with a lack of confidence. There was a time I felt like putting this dream aside. But I continued to learn more, and practice, and I found the confidence I was wanting; going forward.
Everything changed at that point and I am now very confident in my work and no longer stressed but enjoy everything about it. I have my family and friends to thank for all their encouraging words and support.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As a florist, I specialize in wedding florals but I have provided individuals with flowers for events and other things.
I provide flowers for the bridal party and, their venue. I give the bride what they want.
Something that possibly sets me apart from other florists is that I target what is most important to my client and guide them to know how to get what they would like while staying within their budget. My client is number one.
What’s next?
I have loved getting to know and work with all of these beautiful brides and look forward to continually serving them. I just love to create and work with flowers.
It brings me so much joy! I want to grow my business. I would love to grow a lot of flowers myself and always have what I need.

- Bridal party price range: $650-$1,000
