Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatum Knell.
Hi Tatum, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Hi! I’m Tatum Knell. I was born and raised in Utah. I started acting at a young age and fell in love with it. I moved to Los Angeles to pursue that dream at 19 years old. I’ve been in films such as Love, Kennedy, Zombie Tidal Wave, Mira Mira, and I played Nephi‘s wife in the book of Mormon videos. I continue to act and in fact just got home from filming a movie in French Polynesia.
Frankie Jane Couture Bridal all started when I was wedding dress shopping for my own dress in Utah with my mom. We went to several bridal stores, but we felt like something was missing. That’s when my mom came to me with the idea to open a store of our own. Something that didn’t exist in Utah. With unique couture dresses and an experience you would want to write home about. So, April of 2021 we started planning, contacting wedding dress designers and finding a space to bring our store to life. Our store has been open since February of this year, and we already have 70 brides!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Though opening this store felt meant to be, we are definitely figuring it out as we go along. There were bumps in the road. For one finding a space and locking it down took several months and lots of back and forth. Then once we had the lease, the build-out took much longer than we expected due to the supply chain issues.
Once open we were pleasantly surprised by how many appointments we had scheduled with brides right off the bat. But now, we have to continue to get creative with branding and social media to continue getting brides into the store and get our name out there. We have to trust brides will want to come to our store. It is scary to open a business and devote everything to it and then just hope and pray people want to come and like the service we are providing.
We’ve been impressed with Frankie Jane Couture Bridal, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a one-of-a-kind bridal store in Utah. We carry nine couture designers including Rita Vinieris, Sarah Seven, Anna Kara, Angel Rivera, Anne Barge, Ines Di Santo, Jimmy Huang, and Dany Tabet. Not only do we carry unique dresses unlike any other store in Utah, but we pride ourselves on our experience for our brides. We are by appointment only so we can ensure the bride gets our full and undivided attention. We work hard to make each bride feel special and focus on the little details. And google reviews prove it!
