Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiera Kunz.
Hi Tiera, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My path to where I am today has been anything but linear.
For many years, I worked in the corporate world while quietly carrying a deep knowing that I was meant to do something more meaningful and heart-centered. I spent a long time following the path I thought I was supposed to follow, even when parts of me felt disconnected, burned out, and unfulfilled.
At the same time, I was on a personal healing journey. Through years of therapy, self-development, somatic work, Compassionate Inquiry, and my own lived experiences with grief, trauma, loss, and transformation, I began to understand how deeply our emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being are connected. I learned firsthand what happens when we suppress our truth, abandon ourselves, and live out of alignment — and what becomes possible when we return to ourselves.
One of the most pivotal moments in my journey came when I left my corporate career to pursue the work I felt called to do. While I was already investing in my education and training, stepping away from the security of a corporate paycheck still felt like a leap of faith. It was one of the scariest decisions I have ever made, but I knew I could no longer ignore what my body and intuition were telling me. That leap of faith became the beginning of a completely new chapter.
Today, my work takes many forms, but all of it is connected by the same purpose. Through my coaching practice, Heart in Bloom, I support people in reconnecting with themselves, understanding the roots of their patterns, and creating lives that feel more authentic and aligned.
I also founded Witch Way Apothecary, an online shop where I blend my love of vintage fashion, handcrafted botanical products, jewelry, and ritual-inspired self-care. I curate one-of-a-kind vintage pieces — mostly with a 70s bohemian and retro feel — alongside handmade perfumes, body & hair oils, jewelry, and art. For me, clothing, scent, and adornment are more than things we wear; they are ways we express who we are and reconnect with parts of ourselves that may have been forgotten.
Whether I’m holding space in a coaching session, formulating an oil, curating a vintage piece, or creating something beautiful by hand, my work is rooted in the same belief: healing isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about remembering who you were before the world told you who you had to be.
I feel incredibly grateful to spend my time helping people come home to themselves while continuing to grow, learn, and evolve right alongside them.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road.
Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced the practical challenges of starting and growing a business — financial uncertainty, learning new skills, wearing all the hats, and figuring things out as I go. Leaving a stable corporate career to build a life around work I felt called to do required a tremendous amount of trust and patience.
But honestly, some of the biggest challenges weren’t business-related at all.
A significant part of my journey has been learning to trust myself. For much of my life, I looked outside of myself for validation and certainty. Building a coaching practice and a creative business has required me to listen more deeply to my own intuition, make decisions without guarantees, and keep moving forward even when the path wasn’t entirely clear.
There were also periods when my health became a catalyst for change. I experienced challenges that forced me to slow down, pay attention, and reevaluate how I was living and working. Those experiences deepened my understanding of the connection between emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being and ultimately reinforced the work I do today.
I’ve also experienced profound grief and loss that reshaped how I see life. While I would never have chosen some of those experiences, they taught me resilience, compassion, and the importance of living authentically.
Looking back, I wouldn’t describe the road as smooth, but I would describe it as meaningful. Every challenge has invited me to become more honest with myself, more aligned with my values, and more committed to helping others do the same.
We’ve been impressed with Heart In Bloom/Witch Way Apothecary, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My work is centered around helping people reconnect with themselves.
Through my coaching practice, Heart in Bloom, I work as a Somatic Life Coach and Compassionate Inquiry Informed Guide. I support clients in exploring the patterns, beliefs, and emotional wounds that may be keeping them stuck so they can create lives that feel more authentic, aligned, and fulfilling. My approach is rooted in curiosity, compassion, nervous system awareness, and the understanding that many of our struggles have deeper roots than we often realize.
Alongside my coaching practice, I founded Witch Way Apothecary, an online shop where I blend my love of vintage and retro-inspired fashion, handcrafted botanical products, jewelry, art, and intentional living. I create small-batch perfumes, body and hair oils, and botanical offerings inspired by nature, ritual, and emotional well-being. I also curate clothing and accessories with a vintage and retro-inspired aesthetic, with a particular love for 1970’s bohemian style, individuality, and self-expression.
What connects all of my work is the belief that healing and self-expression are deeply intertwined. Whether someone is sitting with me in a coaching session, wearing a piece that makes them feel more like themselves, or incorporating a handmade oil into their daily ritual, my hope is that they feel a little more connected to who they truly are.
What sets my work apart is that it comes from lived experience. The tools, practices, and products I share have all been part of my own journey of healing, self-discovery, and transformation. I don’t see healing as fixing something that’s broken. I see it as remembering our inherent wholeness and creating space for more authenticity, self-trust, and self-compassion.
What I’m most proud of is creating businesses that feel deeply aligned with my values. Rather than building something based solely on trends or growth, I’ve built offerings that genuinely reflect who I am and what I believe in. Every coaching session, product, piece of art, and curated find is created or selected with intention, care, and a desire to help people reconnect with themselves in meaningful ways.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that self-trust is everything.
For a long time, I looked outside of myself for answers — for validation, certainty, and a sense of direction. I think many of us are taught, both directly and indirectly, to prioritize external approval over our own inner knowing. Part of my journey has been slowly unlearning that.
What I’ve come to understand is that my body has always been communicating with me. My emotions, my resistance, my exhaustion, even my creativity — they’ve all been signals guiding me back toward alignment. The more I’ve learned to listen, the more my life has begun to shift in ways that feel more honest and sustainable.
Self-trust doesn’t mean always knowing exactly what comes next. It means being willing to stay in relationship with yourself even when things are uncertain. It means honoring what you feel, even when it doesn’t make logical sense on the surface. And it means choosing yourself, again and again, even in small ways.
Everything I do now — in my coaching practice and in my creative work — is rooted in that lesson. I don’t see my work as helping people become someone new. I see it as supporting them in remembering their own inner clarity, their own truth, and their own capacity to trust themselves.
