Today we’d like to introduce you to Wanted
Hi Wanted, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Wanted is a K-pop dance team located in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have been together since March 2020, we started off as just 5 members doing K-pop dance covers for fun, we are now a group of 20+ members who not only put out dance covers on YouTube but are actively competing and performing all throughout the United States. We have been very fortunate in building our teams reputation and connections and are kn0wn for our powerful performances and team synergy.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a group run completely by ourselves, we have had our fair share of challenges. We have built ourselves from the ground up, that means there is no guidebook for what we do. Of course, we can look at other groups and see what they do and works for them but we have had a lot of trial and error to see what works best for us. In the beginning, an obstacle for us what getting opportunities to perform/compete, we had to work hard to get our name out there. I think what helped us overcome this was constantly reevaluating and trying different approaches in our leadership, how practices are run, and filming/content. We are very lucky to have a team who wants to collaborate and figure it out together.

WANTED dance team is a dedicated K-pop dance group renowned for their precision in choreography, powerful stage presence, and ability to encapsulate the essence of K-pop performances. Our team specializes in creating synchronized dance covers of popular K-pop songs and takes pride in our commitment to delivering high-quality entertainment to our audience. We started off just doing K-pop covers for YouTube but have now expanded to performing throughout Utah and the United States. We are very proud to say we have placed in many national & international competitions. This August, we travelled to LA and placed 2nd place in KCCLA’s Annual K-pop Dance Cover Festival- it was a very big moment for us!
What sets WANTED apart from other dance teams is our continuous pursuit of growth and exploration of new styles. While K-pop remains our primary focus, we are actively expanding our repertoire and venturing into different dance genres to challenge ourselves as performers. This diversification of skills allows us to bring fresh and innovative content to our audience while also evolving as dancers.
WANTED dance team is excited about our journey ahead and we look forward to sharing even bigger and better dance performances with our audience.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Starting a K-pop dance group during the pandemic was tough. We had to kick things off virtually, then slowly transitioned to in-person practices with masks and social distancing. Dancing with masks on was a real challenge for all of us, and there were times when COVID-19 forced us to take breaks for weeks. It was a real rollercoaster, but we learned to roll with the punches and stay adaptable. We encountered several challenges that forced us to think outside the box, such as integrating masks into our outfits. While this sometimes led to tension within the group, it ultimately brought us closer together.
