Hi Yennyfer, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Yennyfer. I was born in Colombia, and I am a business administrator happily dedicated to full-time motherhood who learned to create digital content. It all started when I became a Mom. I never imagined that motherhood would affect me so deeply.
As a new mother, I searched for everything on the internet, but as a mother of twins, I didn’t find much information about it – almost nothing! I thought that I would like to be able to create content to help other mothers like me. I shared my experiences and how beautiful motherhood is, and at the same time, I have been able to generate income from my home.
I had this in mind throughout my pregnancy, trying to find where to start. I finally made the decision to do it when my twins turned two. At that time, I could think better and discovered more precisely what I wanted to do. I already felt like I had gotten into the rhythm of motherhood because these first two years, I slept when my children slept in order to regain energy.
Since I was in college, I have never been afraid of speaking to other people or speaking in public, but I didn’t know the effects that cameras would have on making me so nervous. One day, a friend invited me to sell Nuskin products on my social network. She encouraged me so much to lose my fear that I didn’t care what other people would say about me. I did it for a while, and that is how I lost my shame and fear.
After selling Nuskin, I felt a little ready, but we didn’t have the tools like a high-quality camera, microphones, or a tripod. This stopped me from starting, but after we went to Las Vegas for a trip with our children, we finished our ideas, and because of the heat, when we arrived back home in our beautiful Utah, we said, let’s get started! We decided to follow a popular phrase that says, “Start with what you have, and along the way, you look for the tools.” For the people who are reading this, this phrase works for any aspect of life or purpose. And so we started with what we had: my cell phone, a mind full of ideas, and a lot of faith.
I never imagined that I would learn recording skills, photography, editing, scripts, and content creation and put into practice some of the things that I already knew and that I had learned in college, like marketing and other things, but you know the saying “no one prepares you to be a mother but being a mother prepares you for everything.”
As a content creator, you learn little by little, and each time, you do things a little better. I never thought that, as a business administrator, I would dedicate myself to this. When you finish university, you don’t know what you are really going to dedicate yourself to, but little by little, you will find your way. I found my way when I became the mother of my children, enjoying what I like to do most, which is being with them while I generate income from my home.
If you asked me if I feel fulfilled and successful being a full-time mother, the answer is “Yes” because the best thing that can happen to a person in life is to have children, and the best title I have received in my life is: Mom!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being your own boss is not easy!! I have cried sometimes. The career of a content creator has many ups and downs because one day, you wake up super excited, and another day, you don’t know if you are doing it right, and you have to get up and continue.
We also often use the famous “trial and error” to know which way to go, and it is not easy because you always have the hope that what you do will work, but sometimes it doesn’t, and we have to try something different, and there are days when you have a block. You don’t have ideas, and you don’t know what to invent because nowadays, there is very good competition trying to do the same thing, and the only way to get seen is to stand out.
Another thing I strive for daily is trying not to cross the fine line of not spending too much time on my cell phone, iPad, or computer working because, for me, my priority is my Children, sharing and enjoying with them. So, I have to distribute my free time wisely.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a digital content creator focused on parenthood, where we show our lifestyle, experiences, humor, and creative ideas in Spanish. We are on all social networks: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. We are currently learning English, and one of our goals is to be able to offer content in both languages.
We create a community to be able to share our adventures as parents of twins, and we share our experiences to help or give ideas to other parents and make them feel seen.
I never imagined that I would influence so many lives, receiving messages from many people from different parts of the world and thanking us for the content that we create and to which they identify. They tell us that they have fun with our content, and it is very gratifying for us, and we feel happy about it. We have come so far, although it has not been easy. I can say that discipline and perseverance have brought us here.
How do you define success?
For me, success is everything we have and what makes us happy. It is being able to see with eyes and a heart of gratitude for everything that God has given us. It is the result of our efforts, dedication, discipline, perseverance, and enjoyment of the path that we have.
