Rising Stars: Meet Alejandro Martinez of Salt Lake City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alejandro Martinez.

Hi Alejandro, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Perseo Creative Studio was born from a shared vision: to make high-quality design, branding, and web development accessible to businesses of all sizes. Too often, small businesses are left behind—facing expensive agencies on one side and inconsistent, low-quality solutions on the other. We wanted to change that.

Founded in Utah by Alejandro Martínez and Caden Cole, Perseo combines creativity with technical expertise. Alejandro brings a background in graphic communications, design, and photography—recognized with multiple awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. His work spans from branding, graphic and web design to product and portrait photography. Caden, with a degree in computer science and a focus on human-computer interaction, adds the technical foundation—building functional, and visually striking websites. Together, we merge design and technology to create cohesive brand identities that truly work.

At Perseo, we believe branding is more than just a logo or a website—it’s the story of your business, the way you connect with people, and the impression that lasts. Our mission is to give every business, no matter its size, access to bold design, seamless websites, and strategic content. We don’t just create visuals—we help build identities that inspire growth, attract the right audience, and stand out in today’s crowded digital world.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Our journey with Perseo has been very organic. From the very beginning, we were fortunate to have support from other local businesses, who guided us through setting up our LLC and the practical side of building a company. Since both founders had years of experience in design, marketing, and creative services, we were able to create all the brand assets we needed ourselves, and our existing network helped us connect with new clients quickly.

One of the main challenges wasn’t about finding work, but about learning how to work together as co-founders. Every partnership comes with different perspectives and work styles, but with open communication and mutual respect, we were able to find a rhythm that made us stronger as a team. That process helped us shape Perseo’s collaborative spirit—not just between us as founders, but also in the way we partner with our clients.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At Perseo Creative Studio, we specialize in building strong foundations for businesses through branding, design, photography, and digital solutions. What sets us apart is our human-centered approach. Both of us come from working at a community college, so we’re used to connecting with people from all kinds of backgrounds and meeting them where they are.

We’ve seen how many businesses struggle with marketing—not because they lack passion or great ideas, but because they don’t have the right guidance or expertise. Too often, agencies take whatever assets a business already has, even if the logos, visuals, or messaging aren’t strong, and simply start distributing them. We take a different path.

At Perseo, we start by reviewing and strengthening those core assets. We work one-on-one with our clients, helping them clarify their story, refine their visual identity, and create cohesive materials that truly represent their business. From a single logo to a complete brand system, we make sure everything fits together seamlessly.

What we’re most proud of is helping businesses not just “look good,” but feel confident in how they present themselves. We don’t just create assets—we build the narrative, the visuals, and the tools that allow a business to thrive long-term.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
There are so many resources available for new business owners—government programs, community organizations, and even local opportunities like the business courses offered through the SLCC Business Center. I always encourage people to take advantage of those resources, do their research, and make sure their business ideas are not only creative but also smart and profitable.

Another great strategy is to look at successful businesses in your industry. Study their models, see how they’ve grown, and learn what might be applied to your own journey. Don’t be afraid to reach out to professionals for advice. In my own experience, even if Perseo isn’t the right fit for someone’s specific needs, I’m happy to connect them with another business that can help.

At the end of the day, networking is all about building relationships and being generous with your connections. There is room for everyone, and by sharing contacts, ideas, and opportunities, we help each other grow. My best advice? Connect, connect, connect.
