Rising Stars: Meet All Members of Salt Lake City

Today we’d like to introduce you to All Members

Hi All Members, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Coping Creative Collective LLC is a femme-led, Utah-based arts and crafts collective and coven, dedicated to supporting and promoting local artists through community-building, workshops, promotion, and markets.

Our name originated from Coping Creative, an Instagram page launched by our co-founder and local music therapist, Emma Skaggs. Initially created as a mental health-focused space to share art and creative projects, the platform evolved from a solo project in 2024 when Emma (apothecary, resin goods) teamed up with fellow artists Reina Meza (jewelry, photography), Morgan Barton (terrariums), and Shay Furr (illustration, art prints). Together, we transformed Coping Creative into a group organization, creating a space that enables us to uplift one another, share skills, and collaborate to sell and showcase our work. In December 2024, we hosted our “soft launch” partnering with local DJ WaxKalax for a King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard-themed vinyl night, which was a resounding success. Fueled by that momentum, in 2025 we had our “hard launch” at RoHa Brewing Project’s St. Patrick’s Day Market.

Though we’re still in our early stages, we’re excited to embrace the challenges ahead, grow as artists, and build a thriving creative community. We can’t wait to see where this little coven takes us!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Our biggest obstacles to date have been largely administrative. Although we each have ample experience with making and sharing art and organizing and hosting community events, none of us are experienced business owners. Navigating the legal and tax system, as well as social media marketing has all been a major learning process. But we took our time and worked together to figure it out.

Another big obstacle we face is narrowing down the projects we want to do. There’s just so much we want to try and only so much time and resources to try it!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Something that sets us apart is as a collective of four people who have different skills, this allows us to create a lot of different things and take risks we may not normally take working alone. This enables us to specialize in a diverse range of crafts and creative arts projects. We each have our personal projects we work on, but we also do group projects together. The biggest of which has been our venture into candle and scented wax melt making, which have become our biggest sellers along with jewelry, and stickers. We also have made custom mech for local bands including stickers, underwear, ballcaps, and beanies, and would like to do more custom orders like this in the future.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
