Rising Stars: Meet Becca Jackson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Becca Jackson.

Becca Jackson

Hi Becca, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Seven years ago after having my third daughter, I decided I wanted a happier more positive, and healthier life. I worked hard to make my workouts consistent and part of my routine, as well, as learning more about nutrition, and how to better take care of my health.

But I also made myself a priority emotionally and mentally. I believed that I loved who I was and practiced that every day. Soon after this lifestyle change, I realized I wanted to help others also live a healthier and happier life. I started sharing different recipes and lifestyle tips on Instagram. I also started teaching group fitness classes, because it was such a passion of mine!

I am now I’m still teaching group fitness and just launched my own Cookbook this summer.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been tricky to be a group fitness instructor, to be seen on social media as a “health and fitness influencer” and still keep the confidence I need. It’s a daily thing to not feel pressured to cut my calories, follow a stricter weight-lifting program, or feel the need to look a certain way.

Because I love my story, I love to see how far I’ve come, and I love where I am., and where I am going. I work out because it’s fun and it makes me feel good and get stronger. But I also enjoy my treats and get ice cream with my kids, and I love that balance.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I like to think I’m known for quick, easy, “doable” and healthy meals. I feel passionate about people making sure they’re eating “enough” good meals throughout the day. I am constantly talking about protein intake, and making our meals balanced but also delicious.

I share different breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack ideas often through Instagram and a local lifestyle TV show as a healthy food contributor. I want people to see that you can live a healthy life without stressing about following a rigid meal plan.

I don’t take a long time to cook meal prep or plan my meals. I hope to inspire people to keep it simple, and living healthy doesn’t have to be expensive and difficult.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
That I’m consistent. I am not strict, I am not perfect, but I preach about living an 80/20 lifestyle. 80% of the time we try to eat our veggies, fruits, chicken, and eggs and get our movement in each day.

But 20% of the time we sleep in, and eat donuts for breakfast or cookies after lunch. I preach this lifestyle, but I also live by it and I’ve never been happier.
