Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaden Hodges
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Jaden Hodges, AKA DJ Gear Bolt, is an EDM DJ and Producer from Salt Lake City, Utah, who generates a unique House and Techno urban style. DJ Gear Bolt uses synths and the electric guitar to create a distinctive sonic experience by infusing psychedelic and hypnotic trance elements, solidifying his reputation as an innovative DJ and party starter in the local EDM scene.
DJ Gear Bolt found his passion for music when he was eight, first learning to play the guitar. After forming a band in his early years, he experimented with hip-hop and released his first EP in 2019. Influenced by AC/DC and Pink Floyd, DJ Gear Bolt draws inspiration from various genres and rave producers such as Skrillex and Deadmau5. Now pursuing to become an established EDM artist, DJ Gear Bolt is constructing a new image and sound by forging an immersive audio experience for his fans.
In 2022, DJ Gear Bolt began working on a self-titled album, and his iconic steampunk look debuted in 2023! In June of 2022, he released his album “Sounds of Magic,” which showcased a folk rock sound, illustrating motifs of fantasy and folklore. From this, he started working on his first Riddim EP called “Thoughts in Mind.” This album would kickstart his love for EDM music and his love for the art after DJing locally, finding a passion for House, Bass, and Techno, and releasing his most recent album, “The Destination,” in 2023.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
To get to where I am today has taken a lot of work, heart break and trial and error I’ve met a ton of amazing people who have helped me become who I am today!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a producer and DJ as well as a muti instrument player! I’m extremely proud of who I’ve become through the years of self exploration and I set myself apart from others with no only my unique music sound but my style and choice of wardrobe as well.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was quite the rebel and struggled with authority! I learned very quickly that life is not out to get you! Growing up as the black sheep of the family I was always pushing for the highest form of self expression without judgment from others! At a young age my interests turned to music as a form of self expression and blossomed to create my brand and who I am today!
