Today we’d like to introduce you to Jugaad Band Utah.
Hi Jugaad Band, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are engineers by profession originally from India with a love for Bollywood music. We happened to meet in Salt Lake City through music and found out that we together were able to inspire each other, and bring out the best of our musical talents, and began performing three years ago. We haven’t looked back ever since. We perform regularly at various venues including restaurants, city community and private events, and all several local Indian festivals.
As we are a three person band, we perform with a flexible and efficient approach to bring out the essence of the songs we perform to entertain and to bring out the best in us. This approach is termed JUGAAD in Hindi slang, and hence the name.
Jugaad aims to give you a pleasant melodious and peppy Bollywood musical experience by presenting a mix of bollywood classics and latest tunes in the valley.
We are:
Bhakti Dash – Male Vocals, trained in Indian Hindustani Classical music and a part time DJ.
Prerana Rao – Female Vocals, trained in Indian Karnatic Music and Indian Classical Bharatanatyam Dance.
Shreyas Hoskere – Music, trained in Indian Karnatic Classical music, a flutist, keyboard and saxophone artist, and a part time DJ.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
With an active family life, professional life and passion for music with our growing audience base, stage and venue size has been challenging to find the right balance. We are also looking to expand our opportunities to perform at bigger and larger venues to showcase or talent and entertain everyone.

Bhakti and Prerana are engineers in the IT sector while Shreyas is an engineer in medical device manufacturing industry.
In a span of three years, we have been able to make a mark in the community which is evident from our packed calendar for performances.
We are known for our energetic performances with quick set up and tear down and entertaining nonstop throughout our show.
What matters most to you?
Entertaining the audience with our music to the max is what we enjoy the most. Bringing out the best of our musical talents to entertain everyone pushes our talent to improve further and grow as a team.
