Today we’d like to introduce you to Karly Stringham
Hi KARLY, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Ever since I was little, I dreamed of becoming an architect. I was fascinated by how spaces could tell stories and transform the way people live. As I grew up, I discovered my passion for creativity extended beyond just building design—I loved crafting unique and personalized ideas that captured the essence of each project.
I pursued this passion by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Design, where I honed my skills and explored innovative design concepts. During my time in school, I gained valuable experience working with custom home builders and architectural firms, learning the intricacies of bringing visions to life.
Today, I channel my love for design and storytelling into every project, creating spaces that are not only functional but deeply meaningful.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road—like most journeys worth taking, it’s been filled with its share of challenges. One of the biggest struggles was balancing the demanding workload of design school while working at custom home builders and architectural firms. Juggling academics, work, and building a foundation for my career required long hours, perseverance, and a lot of resilience.
Another challenge was overcoming self-doubt in such a competitive field. Design is deeply personal, and presenting my work to peers, professors, and clients often left me questioning if my ideas were good enough. Learning to trust my creative instincts and see critique as an opportunity for growth took time but made me a stronger designer.
Starting my own business came with its own set of hurdles. Navigating the logistics of entrepreneurship, building a client base, and wearing multiple hats as a designer, marketer, and manager was overwhelming at times. But each challenge taught me valuable lessons and pushed me to grow both professionally and personally.
Through it all, my passion for design and the joy of creating spaces that impact people’s lives have been my motivation. The challenges have shaped my journey and made me even more committed to doing what I love.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in creating custom architectural and interior designs that are deeply personal and tailored to each client’s vision. At Quarterline Design, my focus is on more than just aesthetics—it’s about crafting spaces that tell a story and enhance the way people live and experience their environments.
I’m particularly known for my ability to listen and translate ideas into cohesive designs that feel both timeless and unique. Whether it’s designing a cozy, functional home or transforming a space into something extraordinary, I strive to bring creativity and intention into every detail.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. There’s no greater compliment than seeing someone walk into a space I’ve designed and feel like it truly reflects who they are. It’s incredibly rewarding to create designs that feel like home or serve as an inspiring space for others.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine a strong foundation in architectural design with a deep love for creativity. I approach each project as an opportunity to solve problems with innovative solutions, ensuring both form and function work seamlessly together. My goal is to make the process collaborative, enjoyable, and ultimately transformative for my clients.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something surprising that many people might not know is that before diving into architectural and interior design, I specialized in portrait art. I loved capturing the essence of people through my work and even won multiple contests with my pieces. This artistic background plays a big role in my design process today, as it taught me how to see and convey details that make something truly unique and personal.
