Rising Stars: Meet Kelee Love

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelee Love.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In 2012, after a divorce, I went through a dark night of the soul. In this period of time, I found myself almost homeless, unemployable, and with an alcohol problem due to unhealed trauma and low self-esteem.

I hated myself so much and drinking was the only way I could numb the pain at the time. Starting my life over, I had nothing to show for being 32 years old. I felt like a waste of life and wanted to end it all.

Then, there came a point where I knew I had to do something different or I was going to die. It was then I had to make a decision to change my life by getting sober, and working on myself through therapy, or continue on the dark path that I was headed down.

I decided to choose life, and after years of healing of trauma, and rebuilding my life from the ground up, I found myself again.

One day in late 2016, I was hiking. I found hiking soothed me, and helped me feel inspired. On this particular day, after reaching my destination, I had an inspired thought that went something like “All the work you’ve done needs to be shared with other women. You need to teach what you know to others who are suffering”.

That was the day that my journey into Entrepreneurship started. At the time, I didn’t have an active Instagram, or Facebook account, but I was open to exploring how to use social media to share my journey with the desire to help other women who experienced similar self-esteem and confidence issues, to provide hope of healing and possibility.

I started posting my journey and a few months later, a woman with who I had been acquainted approached me and asked “how much would you charge me to coach me with my self-love and confidence?” I told her I had to think about it as no one had ever asked for my help before, but I would consider it.

After much meditation, I decided I would love to help coach her. I had a background in Corporate Training & Development, so the idea of teaching and mentoring wasn’t that foreign to me as I had been doing it for years in the corporate setting. My friends started calling me Kelee (Kelly) “Love”, within months I started being asked by local salons such as Salt Wax Society and 801 Beauty to provide classes on building confidence, self-love, and how to have healthy relationships.

Through the power of the internet, women from all over the world started coming to me and asking me to provide individual coaching, facilitate group mastermind programs, and host events. I was asked to speak at women-led retreats.

Then one day, early 2020, after being featured on the “I am Salt Lake” podcast, I was approached by Deena Manzanares from ABC4’s Good Things Utah. She wanted to know if I was interested in coming on GTU and sharing my message. Of course, I could not say no to the opportunity! Even in Covid lockdown, I had the opportunity to share my “love” to more of Utah. “

Over the past five years in Entrepreneurship, I have had multiple opportunities (now 7) to be featured on Good Things Utah. I have coached hundreds of women through my coaching programs. I have been able to witness countless lives changed since I chose to embark on this journey. It hasn’t always been easy, but today I look back and see how worth it the journey has been.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh no, is anything smooth? It wasn’t until 2018 that I took myself seriously as a coach, and decided that in order to have the type of impact I wanted to have in the world, I had to step fully into entrepreneurship. Talk about scary! From 2018 to early 2020, I had my programs full and was able to be a full-time entrepreneur.

Then, after having my best income month ever in May 2020, the impact of the COVID lockdown started to affect my business. Because many were dealing with the economic downturn, like many other small businesses, I felt the effect. During the summer of 2020 I had to rely on my savings account to support myself and in late 2020 found myself working for a corporation again to get back on my feet financially.

For most of 2021, I worked full time, while still providing group coaching to my clients. A few months ago, I was guided by intuition to once again, be a full-time entrepreneur. One of my most difficult lessons to learn has been to trust that the people I am to help will show up at the right timing and that my material needs are provided for.

However, the more I trust that all is well, and continue to move forward each day with the primary purpose of helping others, I am rewarded massively by the level of impact I get to see in the lives around me.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I consider myself a Coach, specializing in Self Love & Relationships. A massive part of my personal healing was to learn how to have healthy relationships, including the one with myself. I am most known for helping women who are struggling with heartbreak.

I am the heartbreak healer as the women I coach privately typically come to me after they’ve had a relationship breakdown or failure, and they do not want to continue to repeat the same pattern of picking partners who aren’t good for them, or if they struggle with toxic family dynamics. We work on changing their core belief systems about relationships and building their confidence in themselves, and helping them identify and set personal boundaries to have healthy relationship dynamics with others (romantic or family).

After they change their belief systems about love and relationships, and build self-esteem, and set their own personal boundaries, each woman goes on to accomplish her dreams. After working together 80% of my clients are in happy, healthy relationships, and the others are just so happy with themselves and comfortable in their own skin, it doesn’t matter if they are in a relationship or not.

I am most proud of my impact on hundreds of women through my coaching program, and thousands, by being able to share advice on ABC4’s Good Things Utah.

What sets me apart from others is that it’s never been about making money. Money flows as a result of passion and purpose. What sets me apart is that I genuinely love my work. I practice what I preach, and instead of just talking about a great game, I live my teachings, day in and out. I also recognize I am human and have the humility to be willing to grow, evolve and change.

It’s important for me to be present in all my interactions and treat each person as though they are the most important person in the world because at that moment they are. I actually deeply love my clients, and because of this, the transformation I provide as a coach and guide is invaluable. People can feel if you love them or not, and I can definitively say that all my community and clients feel the love from me, which is why I was nicknamed “Kelee Love”.

How do you define success?
I have never defined success through money or material success, but rather define success by the impact I get to make each day. When I get messages thanking me for helping them through reading a post, watching a video, or taking one of my free or paid classes, I cry with gratitude. I also love receiving engagement, wedding, or baby pictures, and knowing I got to be a part of their journey, I know I have done my part to make the world a better place.

Success is about the journey of taking each high and low in stride and going with the flow of life to navigate through opportunities for growth, and the amount of fun I get to have along the way. I never set out on this path to make money, but rather to live my life on purpose, and use my past pain and personal growth to benefit the lives around me.

Success is about the amount of gratitude I feel each day as I share my messages of hope with the world.
