Today we’d like to introduce you to Lee Will.
Lee Will, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always been a creative, I make clothes, music, and whatever else is fun, but how I got into visuals is I shot a BTS vlog for an SLC musical artist, as well as some fitness content for one of my best friends who was starting a gym. It kind of took off from there and the request for more work was there but my skill set and equipment weren’t there (to my standards). I found making the vlog and fitness content amazingly fun and enjoyable so I bought a nice camera, upgraded my computer and just locked myself in my office for a few months and learned how to use my camera and editing software.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been an up and down experience so far …. I’d say the worst part is Just learning so much in so little time means time away from anything else. Also watching other creatives with a larger skill set produce amazing work is frustrating in a good way though because I’m so hungry to get there and it inspires me to go harder. The great things are meeting new people, having new experiences, traveling, and just getting paid to do what I love. As long as you understand not everyone has the same taste in art and not to take things personal at all, and also what you want as a creator isn’t always what the client wants then you’ll have longevity as a visual artist
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a photographer and video director as well as videographer, I specialize in fitness photography, but I’m also a portrait, child, wedding, Realestate, event, product and fashion photographer. I’ve photographed a few pro athletes, have photographed and filmed some platinum recording artists, and also shot and directed my first music video for an amazing up and coming hip hop artist named “They Call Him AP” who is from Colorado. I’ve also photographed my first home, had my first fashion shoot, as well as shot my first wedding. My goal is to own a company of talented individuals that can create what I want on a larger level with multiple projects. I find myself remaining a student and constantly finding more and more love for what I do. As well as prepping myself to be able to gauge the skill set of people who shoot for my company on down the road.
Any big plans?
I’m gonna launch my site so people can see my work within my portfolio, I’m also planning on becoming more a social media presence so people can get to know the man behind the brand. I’m looking forward to my first music video dropping this month.
